I want people to join
When i joined this college I used to play daily for an hour or so, and the place used to be packed ( we used to play bb ) and even the turf used to be super packed and bb court used to have atleast 15-20 people.
Now somehow it feels dry and there are not many people playing.
If you'll are up we should bring back that culture, if you are here in college and/or back from home tomorrow we can play football around 4PM.
You'll can still be anonymous with your reddit names but come join.

What is one thing our college doing wrong
I have seen so many lists till now, Acharya is not in priority ( during my time, i had no idea too, I was forced to keep Acharya CSE)
BUT, Still our college is doing so many things wrong with all the right cards to play with.
Except the top 4 in this list, all the other colleges are either at equal or below our college on stand
Still out college don't make it to the list.

Why/Why not to chose Acharya (AIT)
Ok, Ill be the chicken protecting KFC

And here's my time to this post.

I have been hearing a lot from the sub :
* if this college will be a right choice
* Whether or not to join the college
* What better options we have apart from this college
* Why/why not to chose this college

( My rank is x, can I try y college questions, i can't answer that for now )

Why I chose Acharya:

I didn't. I came here through Comedk, i was asked to keep Acharya ( only for CSE) and i kept it at the very end of of my CSE entries. ( How and What priority i kept i have explained in my previous post)

I had around 4-5 college

RVCE
MSRIT
BMSCE
DSCE
NMIT
RNSIT
( All the CS and related branches of above colleges )

Only after that, I had kept Acharya - CSE

and I was okay even if I was not allotted any seat in Acharya, cause I never even googled it, I was expecting MSRIT ( which was highly impossible, I was okay compromising my branch only for MSRIT for personal biases)

In my mock allotment, I got RNSIT - ISE and I was okay and I was expecting something from the above entries over 28.
But 1st round I was allotted with MSRIT - EEE ( I was happy) but all my friends and family asked me to avoid EEE as that was not my forte or interest lied.

So the next round i was asked to change the priority, and I took Acharya CSE right below RNSIT IS ( above EEE) and below most of it was same ig ( can't recall)

That's how i ended up here.

I didn't like, i never bothered to open up for reviews and i just accepted that college and came hoping it to be one of my shit decisions and when I first saw that college it was not that bad.

But still there was few doubts like most of you have, highest package, avg CTC and other things.

I was told it was 68LPA and I was happy.

Almost after i realised its not what I think, that highest package is old one and college is milking that. But, almost every college does that, RVCE was 92 LPA.

But realistically that's an outlier number and most of them get an avg package below 10LPA and an ideal number to chase as a fresher was between 12-24 LPA ( 24 CTC will still get you around 12-16 in-hand)

And only then I was hit with reality and was a little relieved when i accepted it.

* If this college will be right choice?

For me it is, as i got opportunity to move out, and way better than most VTU colleges, interms of number of fests, accessiblity to city, people in college and overall culture.

* Wheather or not to join college?
It's on you, it's your decision to chose the best for yourself.

A guy messaged me asking about colleges, while discussing, when I told our college is better than RNSIT( I didnt believe while joining)

But now, when I see our college timings, weekend offs and option to not wear college uniforms and everything else which you don't get to see in RNSIT ( my friends are in RNSIT) makes me feel better.

* What are better colleges than our college?
I would only keep a few which are better than our college

* RVCE
* BMSCE
* PES
* MSRIT
* DSCE

( THIS IS VERY SUBJECTIVE TO ME AND DYOR before choosing any college)

Hopefully this also answers Why or Why not to choose this college.

I'm open for all the comments and opinions.

Ps.: The Photo attached is of 2023 COMEDK counselling ( that's the only photo i have)

Ps. : I WOULD LIKE TO TALK To all the seniors of Acharya who told we are not culturally inclusive ( and have differences among students ) on an open forum here on this post.

I saw 2-3 comments students telling " all the senior bhaiya telling this"

If you have to tell, tell it publically, what kind of discrimination you face ( You can still stay anonymous on reddit)

Thenks!!!
Here's the post you might be looking!! ( For Students writing KCET/COMEDK)
So Here's the post you might be looking for
Now that KCET and ComedK results are out, I see lot of them enquiring about the colleges, i see students going on subs to just ask how is the college and the most asked question on the Internet ( I did too )
How's the College?
What's the Placements?
How's the teaching?
and if you ask anyone from the college, especially the students theres no absolute answer to this and No one's right or wrong in saying what they feel and see.
Now addressing the Questions :
What's the best college in Bengaluru, Karnataka?
And whatever you thought is the right answer.
THE MOST Obvious Answer anyone would have is RVCE.
And I'm Not complaining anything but it is not, at least it might not be for someone like me or you.
Here's the reason :
You might like to go enjoy your college life, have parties, go out and suck the shit out from the college life and also want the best placements and you worked hard to just get there and RVCE might not be the right college, BMS or PES would be the place.
But there should be an objective answer too, like why it is the best college?
and I'll give a priority for nerds which is true according to me
RVCE
BMS
PES ( I would have not kept this in list 2 years ago )
MSRIT
DSCE
And anything i after this i would start keeping in blocks
(I'm biased and I believe my college is right after this but it is not, it will somewhere under 15 or 10 )
The blocks : the block numbers are not in any priority I'm Writing the ones which i can recall
block 1 :
Bangalore institute of technology ( BIT)
RNSIT
NMIT
Block 2 :
CMRIT
REVA
Presidency
New Horizon
Block 3 : AVOID EVEN IF YOU ARE GETTING MONEY TO GO HERE:
Cambridge Institute of tech
Don Bosco
East West
Atria
SJBIT
SIT
JSS
MVJ
GITAM
Saptagiri ( if he offered for free )
Raja Rajeshwari
Alliance
Anything else apart from these college is block which is not in bengaluru but is okayish colleges :
KLE
Manipal
SIT
JSS
BVB
if you have no option and are not not moving to bengaluru these can be in your choice
and now comes HOW THE FUCK SHOULD I KEEP THEM IN MY OPTION ENTRY
Which so many of them have fucked up in their comedk counselling and what i believe is the right order is :
CHOOSE THE BRANCH FIRST
You are an adult and you should know what you want to do for next 5 years and the rest 50 years after that.
and I'm from CSE, I would recommend only if you love the thing, you should be passionate enough to ignore the shit like the " AI will take your jobs" and still kick and move your ass to work towards it.
And the next best ( or the only best option if i had to choose now would be ) ECE and i have data and reasons to back it.
Coming back to option entry :
Choose the branch then college according to your priority, if you want to pursue Robotics, Mechanical, ECE, Aeronautical,
Equipment Matter more than anything else, FUCK PLACEMENTS too if they have better infra.
Example : for mechanical i would choose BMS/MSRIT/PES over RVCE cause the club culture and love for auto is more.
The order should be :
• Preferred Branch 1 x Preferred college 1
• Preferred Branch 1 x Preferred college 2
• Preferred Branch 1 x Preferred college 3
*
*
*
• Preferred Branch 2 x Preferred college 1
• Preferred Branch 2 x Preferred college 2
• Preferred Branch 2 x Preferred college 3
Go on until you like.
Coming to Teachers and how you'll study :
Regardless of any college teachers wont help you as much as you think they will or best to put is you wont listen to classes like the way you did till 12th
and there will few outliers in every college where teachers go above and beyond to help you.
But that wont effect you significantly and there's no Objective measure to what defines a best teacher.
This is getting too long if there are more doubts hit me in comments and i'll answer
