Been a while since I’ve been active here and replied to a lot of the posts.

A LOT has happened that I completely forgot to post about. Interdepartment sports are happening, Dandiya Night is happening, and a bunch of other events that you probably already know about lol.

Also forgot to post about the Nature Watch Club trek.
genuinely one of the most fun and one-of-a-kind experiences.

Anyway, more stuff coming here soon.

And honestly, one thing I really want from this community is for it to grow and function regardless of me or any one person.

It should be bigger than any individual.

I might love dogs, maybe the other person love dogs, but you might not like each other or maybe hate each other that how this un-empathetic person love dogs.

But if you both hate cats very likely you'll be friends.

Like a mutual hate towards anything, it can be mutual hate about

" How college sucks"

"How this teacher sucks"

Or any blah blah

Loving n Hating is an art but love at times can leave you melancholic.

You need right proportion of both though.

Only then you can make good friends.

I don't want to start this with the same cliche line about me rotting in bed (because I've used that a lot), but apparently, I was. I wasn't well and didn't attend classes today. Later in the evening, I was going for a checkup, and I was waiting for my roommate to come back from college.

Usually, we discuss what happened in college, or at least anything strange that we observed. Today wasn't the case. He didn't mention anything apart from how the honey cake and doughnut he had at Nandini Bakery were way too delicious. (He knows I like them and can't have them today.)

I asked him to come with me to the hospital because there's no one who's lending us a scooter for now. We could go by auto, but he insisted that I should call again and ask.

I was almost convinced that we were going in an auto.

But the other friend did answer the call, and he was coming to our room.

He came. He was dizzy too. And while we were going on the scooty, I was sitting at the back, my roommate was riding, and the other friend was in the middle.

They were talking about an accident they had seen. Both of them were talking in Tamil, and I was very much interested in how the new moon day was near and I still couldn't find any stars. I was also contemplating my life decisions.

Not that I wasn't interested. I was just busy in my head.

My friend asked my roommate to translate it into Kannada so that I could be a little free from my thoughts and stop thinking about the fever.

He was translating, but before he told me about the accident, he gave me some context.

He said he was there at exactly 1:30 and entered the class at 1:35. His classmates came to him and told him about an accident they had seen at 1:35 near the 6th Gate.

They told him, "The guy is dead on the spot, very likely."

He was reluctant to believe it because he had just entered through the 6th Gate.

After classes, he went to Nandini to have the doughnut, and he didn't see any blood on the road. It wasn't like they had cleaned it up either. Everything was as clear as it would be on a normal day.

But now, the other friend (the scooty guy) was actually at the spot of the accident. He witnessed it and was almost about to get hit himself.

It was just his reflexes and fate that had different plans for him.

There was this guy on a GT650 coming from the hostel towards the first gate.

There were also two girls on a scooty who had just come out of the 6th Gate parking and were going towards the first gate. They took a U-turn without looking behind them.

The guy on the GT650 couldn't control the bike at that speed. To avoid hitting them, he moved a little, the bike flipped twice, and he fell off.

And he fell right in front of my friend's scooty (the one I was sitting on at that moment.)

By God's grace, there was a hostel ambulance on the same road, and he was taken to Saptagiri Hospital immediately.

Yeah, the same hospital I was going to for my checkup.

And there was a huge crowd there, almost 50–75 people waiting right outside. There were teachers, security guards, and students.

What caught our attention was the faculty ID cards, and they were speaking in Tamil, which both my friend and roommate understand.

And they heard it.

The guy was no more.

His parents were on their way, and all the formalities were being taken care of by the people there.

The two girls on the scooty were injured and had fractures, but thankfully, nothing more serious.

Now, who is to blame?

We just know it was an accident.

But what hit me was how easily people can lose their lives.

Killing yourself is obviously the worst thing a person can do to themselves, but what's even worse is losing your life in an accident at such a young age.

And this is the second accident this month where a student has lost his life.

What hits me even harder is when someone loses their life even when it isn't their mistake, like when they're simply walking or standing on the road.

Who is to blame?

No one, because that's what an accident is.

But it could have been avoided if people were just a little more careful.

I've seen so many lives lost to accidents now that I genuinely get scared.

How far am I from death?

I'm not immortal, but I would never want to die in a situation like this.

Student details:

• He was from Allied Health Sciences, 2nd year.
• He was from Tamil Nadu. That's all I know for now.

I wish his family gets the strength to bear this loss.

Batch '26 is the coolest among all the batches I have seen, neither our seniors, nor our juniors are on us are on par with this batch.

They are cool and all.

They are curious in a good way.

Maybe because they have a bigger sample and more admissions and i have interacted and seen a very Creamy layer but I can say that they are cool

For all those who are Asking if classes have started and to all the freshers who are telling classes have started for God sake stop ts 😭

Classes won't start until every KCET round is done.

After the last round of KCET, the week next to it will be the actual classes begin

The classes which you are attending is mostly bridge courses, that won't be academically counted, it's just for students to engage, meet and get used to classes.

If classes have started there will be Schedule, the subjects will be allotted and teachers too. Your proctors will be assigned. Your branch cycles will be decided ( P or C) and you'll be asked to submit undertakings.

Untill then all the classes are just for the sake of it

If I had to give one advice to anyone here.

Don't take advice from anyone.

Especially from loser seniors who themselves are unplaced and know nothing about how they plan to get placed.

And just don't follow anyone blindly.

Be arrogant.

You don't have to fear anyone. Not even your teachers.

Not everyone you meet in first year is your friend. Call them acquaintances.

Your college or your senior won't help you later. It's you who has to help yourself.

Join clubs, make friends, hang out, roam around the city, find things by fucking around.

That's all.
