I just got my hands on Interstellar's 4K UHD Blu-ray print

I’ve watched Interstellar on Prime Video at least three or four times, and it always seemed fine. But I recently got my hands on a Blu-ray copy, and it is an absolute game-changer. It feels easily ten times better than the streaming version. The most mind-blowing part is how the movie shifts between standard CinemaScope (2.39:1) and full-screen IMAX (1.78:1). Watching those full-screen shots on my 4K OLED monitor looks absolutely unreal. The jump from the restricted widescreen scenes to the massive IMAX sequences is breathtaking; the contrast, brightness, and sharpness are on a completely different level. I have turned into a IMAX nerd recently and I just wanted to share my experience with people of similar intrests. Please excuse me if I got wrong on some technical things, I am new to it. I also attached pictures of it if you are intrested to see.

Student Induction Programme Details

I want to ask the seniors about this student induction thing. Like, what is it even about? What will they teach us here? Is it even necessary? Also, will the actual classes start as soon as the induction ends? I really hoped the college began in August after the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, because my parents put a stupid condition that you can do whatever you want in the holidays, but you can't as soon as college begins. I don't know, they've got some kind of hate against watching films in theaters—maybe because I watched around 150 films during my Intermediate. I am a movie buff and can't handle the FOMO of not watching this movie on the big screen. I have pre-booked my tickets for it and now I am worried whether I can go or not. I know it sounds really stupid, but yes, it is what it is.

Honest feedback needed on GITAM Hyderabad (ECE) – Are the Reddit reviews accurate?

Hi everyone,

I recently took admission into the ECE branch at GITAM Hyderabad. Going in, I knew it was an older, well-reputed college, so I expected a solid experience. However, after reading several student reviews here on Reddit, I’m starting to feel really anxious and confused about my decision.

There seems to be a lot of negativity from current students regarding the management and academics. Specifically, I keep seeing allegations about the exam evaluation system—claims that it is rigged to intentionally fail students so the college can collect re-evaluation fees before passing them. Is there any truth to this, or is it just an exaggeration?

I would love to get some unbiased insights from seniors or alumni on a few specific areas:

  • Academics & Faculty: Are the professors genuinely qualified and supportive, or do the academics actually suck as much as some reviews claim?
  • The Evaluation System: What is the actual reality behind the grading and re-evaluation process?
  • Placements & Opportunities: How are the placements looking for the ECE branch, and does the college provide a decent platform for students who want to excel?

I am fully willing to work hard and put in the effort, but I want to know if the college will at least meet me halfway. Is studying here worth it?

I’m feeling pretty scared and second-guessing my choice right now, so any honest, grounded perspective would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance!
