Are they less safe than regular helmets? I’m looking to upgrade my bike helmet, and sometimes when I’m out for a ride, I‘ll wish that I had the ability to listen to music, so I’m considering getting a Bluetooth helmet. However, I’m worried that music may be distracting and limit my ability to hear cars, so I’m not sure that it’s worth the added risk.
I live in a small town with almost no bike infrastructure, asides from a few painted bike lanes on one of the main arteries. I stick to backstreets when possible, which are usually quiet, but I don’t want to get lulled into complacency.
What are your thoughts and experiences with Bluetooth helmets?
