Attention to anyone doing the 1000 Nautical Miles Commendations

TLDR: May have found a way to consistently gain Nautical Miles for 2 trading companies at the same time. Need help with checking if this method is reliable.

Recorded this quick video to show that I gained Nautical Miles for 2 trading companies (Hunter’s Call & Athena’s Fortune). Basically, I voted down an Athena voyage & raised Hunter’s Call flag afterwards.

I have not tried with other emissary + voyage combinations. Anyone would like to do some myth-busting on this? I'm not sure if this is a known strat. Was mind-blowned when I discovered this!

Note to devs: if this is a glitch, please for the love of Flameheart do not prioritise fixing this over more game-breaking ones like the ladder glitch, missing inventory items, etc. 🙏

Pirates of old, do you remember when we had to manually unload loot off the harpoon?

Seeing this piece of loot stuck on the harpoon unlocked a certain feeling in me - a combination of nostalgia & dread.

30% of the time, this works every time in HG

I like to look for a dice roll match before logging off after an HG session. If the opponent agrees, we roll a D20 & everyone’s happy. BUT if they are not in the mood for a dice roll (which is fair!), I like to find a cheeky way to sink them without spending too long. This video is less than 3 minutes. Here’s what happened:

  1. Board & survive 1st fight
  2. Steer towards the boundary, with wind if possible
  3. Empty their wood barrel & throw away their storage crate
  4. Take high ground to prevent them from dropping anchor
  5. Drop a “Well played!” & LOG OFF

Lmk other cheeky ways you try to win when you don't really feel like playing!

Reaper skellies helped me secure some Ancient Coins

Ignore the podcast playing in the background LOL

Took advantage of a quiet server by doing some Reaper Voyages. On my 4th run or so, this happened! I’ve thought about how unfortunate it would be to cannon off/sword lunge off an island only to hear an Ancient Skeleton spawning… thinking this could never happen to me but phew! Thank Flameheart, I had some Reaper friends to watch my back 💀

Throughout that session of collecting Skulls of the Banished, I had a few randoms come & go. One just sat on the boat & left as soon as I turned in the skull. One joined, grumbled & left… shortly missing out on the Ancient Coins. Another one kept dropping obscure facts about Germany. Funny guy. On my last run, an alliance of two sloops pulled up. I saw them coming in the distance & told the latest random to be ready. He sailed the boat away just as I was just about to board with the skull. In true swabbie fashion, he decided to take on the two sloops by himself. Amidst all the chaos, I found a rowboat & rowed all the way to Reaper’s Hideout. Thank you random stranger 🤝

Is Devil's Ridge ok?

We were randomly island-hopping & came across this at Devil's Ridge. No bosses or world events prior, just... 🌋🌋🌋. Is this normal?

An idea for a new Reaper's Bones voyage

IMain idea... Reaper's Bones = hunting other ships. So let's talk about a voyage where it marks another ship for hunting. Different from the Reaper's Mark flag.

A Reaper's Bones Hunting Voyage

  • Marked ships and reward: 1) The marked ship you sink drops another flag (or treasure open to ideas!) that scales with it's emissary. OR 2) just spawns a piece of loot on the marked ship that gives that crew can sell too.
  • Acquiring: Personally I prefer if this be an emissary voyage that you claim at Reaper's Hideout after reaching Grade 5. That way, since you are already able to see other emissaries, it gives you another incentive to chase them. If no emissaries are on the map, a prompt will be give to dive to a new server. This will spawn you "close" to the marked ship.

Marked Ships

  • Who to mark: should the mark be exclusive to emissaries or are regular ships on the menu too?
  • Duration of mark: Unlimited or timed like Merchant contracts? Because runners exist... but fair play to them since they didn't ask to be marked
  • Vicinity of marked ship: How many squares between the two ships? Should distance even be a factor? Looking at another angle - like giving the marked ship a temporary speed debuff (similar to having a Skull of Siren's Song on board)
  • Incentive for marked ship: I get that this puts the marked ship at a disadvantage since they didn't ask to be marked so let's talk rewards! Some way to cash out BIG if they survive the hunt duration or sink the Reaper? or maybe just an hourglass storage crate... for the love of of the fight LOL

Need help looking for this sauce

SidesSG discontinued this sauce recently. Any kind soul who’ve tried it knows where to find something similar?

I have not read the book & do not know if this was covered. Aside from any book answers, how do you think Grace & Rocky spent their time across the stars, question?
