its heartbreaking either way. I think it can be interpreted both ways: he’s crying or she is. it could easily mean either. in less, he’s clearly not happy about leaving her and definitely still loved her, but could tell she’s hurting and also way too dependant on him , so he does the ‘noble thing’. He could easily be sobbing because he knows he’s hurting her, and himself, but it’s for the best. He could be crying before leaving for his flight back to London, and she’s forced to watch him.
on the other hand, it could just as easily be liv crying. Crying cuz he’s leaving her, crying cuz it didn’t work out, crying cuz she needs him. It makes sense for her to be at lax, more than him. He could be leaving for London, she could be alone back at LA where she lives.
i’ve always liked the interpretation that it’s Louis, but I also see the Olivia one because of LAX and it matches yspsfagsil beautifully. I do think Louis is hurting too, and we obviously know liv is. I can see both, honestly. I love how the songwriting shows that they’re BOTH hurting, it’s a tough choice that leaves someone/ both hurt either ways, and it could be either of them, or even both crying, and I think it’s beautiful.
