How can people looks past Prophet Muhammad(SAW) and Aisha’s marriage?
I myself stick to islamic teaching and grew up in a country where people are predominantly muslim. But how can I not question the morality of Islam if prophet Muhammed(SAW), who is supposed to be supreme moral example, married Aisha when she was only 6? If her age wasn’t actually 6(though she was described as playing with dolls which isn’t a typical behavior that would be done by a girl that reached puberty) she would be maybe 16 at best and that would still be morally questionable. The fact of the matter is this pushes very bad narrative especially in countries like Afghanistan where they mischaracterize and weaponize Islam to oppress women.
So how is this morally defendable because you can’t say presentism fallacy because it would mean that Islam has outdated morality?
Again I repeat that I am not anti Islam I just wonder how I should proceed next in regards to my faith.
