Shot in the dark. Vividlope--how is it?

On the Switch sale for about 5$. How is it?

Game looks fun and I love the style, but does it have any legs in terms of depth?

I ask because I know our community has overlap with fans of BogHog, who praises puzzle action games like Tetris GrandMaster and made Caramel Action. Vividlope looks unique, but just wanted to check with you guys to see if it's worth pulling the trigger on

▲ 3 r/Doom

The first time I played it about 2 years ago, HotD absolutely blew my mind and it cemented Doom 93 as one of my favorite games.

I bring this up because I looked it up right after playing it and found that other people thought it was the worst level. I'm watching Civvie11 review original Doom and the way he groaned just thinking about HotD made me curious lol.

I think HotD is extremely tense in a way that I have never really experienced with other shooters, not even many other games in general. It's been a while since I played it, but I recall really enjoying how fast this level makes you play it due to the time-sensitive nightvision goggles. I love how winding and mazelike the hallways are while you're being stalked by that Hell Knight.

Really, it encourages clever routing in a way old arcade games kinda did. Completing it felt like completing a puzzle just as much as blasting through an action game.

HotD was where Doom 93 elevated itself from being great fun to something truly transformative, IMO.
