95 Reportedly laid off at id Software

According to Jason Schreier, id Software have been hit by layoffs, allegedly losing 95 of their employees.

The Team approximately had150-200 before the lay offs, leaving approximately 60-80 devs left.

While the total number of employees laid off has not yet been officially confirmed, a number of id Software devs have already publicly announced that they've been laid off

My deepest condolences goes out to the ones affected, hopefully everyone can get back on there feet.

I've been a fan and followed the studio for a while now, so this news makes me incredibly upset and frustrated.

Since there are less than 24 hours left until the DLC...

Do you think we'll have any infamous encounters like the Komodo and the Revenant leader? And if so, what do you think it would be like?

I think I remember that in one of the live streams, Hugo mentioned that we would be facing a Komodo and a Buzzsaw... I'm scared...

I got a new surround sound and my wife effectively banned me playing Doom

Recently bought a flash $400 surround system for the home TV and thought I'd test it out playing a bit of Doom Eternal on the Immora level, wife came back from work, and according from her it sounded like it was a death metal concert from 2 blocks away. So now she's told me I'm not allowed to play anymore Doom games or get rid of the surround system.

So with that, is there anyone living in the Nova Scotia area who wants a 29F woman who hates loud noises?

My Doom Slayer cosplay

I was competing for the first time and won Grand Prix of Russian Epic con 2026!! So I wanted to share photos from there.
P.S. The lack of exposed biceps is intentional. I adapted the bicep part from 2016 predator suit.

Doom (2016) was my official introduction to this universe and I loved it!!! Now time for Eternal😈

How does Eternal stand up to Doom (2016) ? Better, not as good, even?

DOOM (2016) is still my favorite DOOM game

DOOM (2016) is still my favorite game in the series. I love the atmosphere, the soundtrack, the pacing, and how grounded the combat feels. Eternal is a fantastic game, but I always find myself coming back to 2016. Does anyone else feel the same?

How important is Revelations to DOOM's future?

With all the recent Xbox layoffs and studio shakeups, I can't help but wonder if this expansion is under more pressure than usual. TDA reviewed well, but there seems to be a perception that it underperformed commercially compared to 2016 & Eternal. I'm not sure how true this is.

Do you think the DLC is effectively an audition for the future of modern DOOM?

If player interest is lukewarm again, could id Software decide it's time for another major reinvention or even a change in leadership and philosophy for the next game?

I'm not saying the franchise is in trouble as DOOM is one of gaming's biggest names but I do wonder whether this DLC will influence what comes next more than any previous expansion has.

Curious what everyone thinks. Is Revelations just more DOOM, or could it end up being a turning point for the franchise?
