Hacker/cyber style hTCG Update 4. Made some adjustments regard the card designs

Hello again.

After my last post showing off cards, many of you wanted a more distinct / boxed off sections for the different stats and parts. I also tried out adding a reminder text for some of the effects.

Regarding the language of the cards, I am currently deciding to not simplefy it to plain english, as I feel that would completely ruin the theme of the game. I will rather work on making a easy to understand explenation.

There are 2 "main designs" for the card tamplate, as alot of the artwork is more vertical then horizontale, so I wanna try to accomodate both designs.

Which ones is your favorite? Any suggestions on changes?

In advance, thank you for taking the time :)

Hacker/cyber style hTCG Update 3. Showcase of the current Rulebook version 0.1 for my TCG.

Hello again.

Here is the current version of the rule book. Many people have commented on my last posts that the language/syntax of the cards have been difficult to understand, alongside some confusing keywords and stats. Hopefully this will help clear that up.
Please let me know if there is anything unclear about the rules, or any issues you can spot.

I am open to suggestions regarding changes, tweaks or supplements

In advance, thank you :)

Hacker/cyber style hTCG Update 2. Made some adjustments and looking for feeback.

Hey,

This is an update post from my previous post a few moths back. I am making a hacker/cyber inspired TCG.

Previous post on my profile

I made my first post a while ago and the main feedback was:

1: Make some art for the cards, to easier identify the cards.

2: The color scheme was to dark.

I have made some adjustments regarding the feedback.

I have made some ascii art for the cards by putting images trough an ascii art generator. And tried out some versions with the art being in colors (Yes i know some of the colored ones are hard too see xD).

Looking fore some feedback regarding the improved card design.

Any toughts on turning the card text itself into colored syntax?

In advance, thank you :)

Greetings.
I am starting to make a homemaade TCG in my spare time and looking for some feedback. The game is currently called Script.BattleTCG. It is a hacker/cyber themed tcg. As i am not a "artist", and have kinda "high" standards for myself when i comes to art, it has a terminal/textbased "art".

The game revolves around each player picking a operator and building a deck around their theme (pic 1). Each operators stats and restrictions are listed.
There are currently 3 card types.

Programs: playd to protect your operators network and cannot attack, unless spesifyed. Used for defending. stays on the battlefield untill destroyed or terminated.
Virus: used to launche attacks on the enemy operator to reduce their integrity (hp) to 0. cannot defend unless spesifyed. stays on the battlefield untill destroyed or terminated.
Commands: "spells" that have utility effects like restorting stability / integrity, killing programs, and are resolved imidietly and does not stay on the battlefield.

all cards have a CPU cost = how much it cost to play the cards.
programs and viruses have a RAM cost - this is how much RAM they take up on your system. if you exceed your operators RAM value, you need to terminate programs until you are within the limits.
programs and viruses also have a stability (stab) value = HP - damage taken stays on the card and are not reset each cycle (turn).
viruses (and some programs) have a strength (str) value = attack damage.

each player gets a stacking amount of CPU each turn that refreshes.

pic 2 have an example of a program, virus and command card.
pic 3 is my current suggestion for rarity for the cards.
-Open Source (common - green)
-Licensed (uncommon - blue)
-Proprietary (rare - purple)
-Black Core (mythic rare - gold/yellow)

pic 4 is a more refined template for the cards.

Feedback:

  1. I am worried the minimalist style with "only text", might be too "boring" in the long run for people. any suggestions on how to add some art or flare that can fit with the theame to make the cards stand out more?
  2. The lingo on the cards is code inspired. I am not a programmer myself, but have dabbeled in it on and off, and thought it would look uniqe. Is it too hard to understand what the cards does? should the effect of the cards be written out in plaintext instead? NB! I have a full list with what the drifferent keywords mean like 'firewall', 'quarentine', 'offensive', 'static' ect.
  3. most of the cards are made in paint as a general outline of the cards. pic 4 is made with dextrous, if you have any inputs on design, rarity, colors and card types/keywords or other programs to use for designing templates / keeping track of the cards i am grateful.

any other feedback is welcomed 😄

P.S. sorry for the long post, if you made it this far - kudos to you 😄
