New to the Outback family.

Coming from a 2023 VB WRX - losing the stick shift was tough. But I’m loving the new Subaru.

The cause was canine related. Specifically an adopted, 100+ lb, Great Pyrenees/ GSD / Husky cross that was simply not safe to transport in a four door sedan.

Cross shopped a lot of cars before landing here - from a Volvo v60 to Toyota Land Cruisers and 4Runners. But this was the right choice. Sorta a wagon. Kinda an SUV. And my 7 year old loves it - from the mini dog-fit pictures in the back. To the rear seat space and the fact that he actually has vents to cool / heat his area. Definitely excited for our first road trip/ camping trip in this!

Took my son and I to the July 4th Mariners game…

He’s 6 and a huge baseball fan. This was our first game, coming down from Victoria, BC (though I’m a Mariners fan and he was rooting for everyone to have fun). A fantastic game and I went on swearing I was going to come home with something - for our first game. I was dead set on a card. - Julio probably. But ended up with these - two signed ball. One from JRod and the other from Logan Gilbert who through 7 innings on one hit ball.

Not sure the point of this, except to say:

  1. What I love about sports memorabilia is how it helps remind us of important events and moments. A first ball game. An intense post season run. A luckless team that played hard and were fun to watch.

  2. While I

love

  1. baseball cards there is something so cool about a clean signature on a white baseball. Maybe I watched “The Sand Lot” one too many times as a kid…

NBD - Soloist

A 2023 105 gold that my LBS still had in stock. Love it so far - sure as heck feels lighter and more nimble than my old Felt gravel bike….

Doing a sprint tri in 2 weeks, so that should be a good chance to break it in!
