What pre-wash actually shifts the most dirt and what does it cost you per wash?

I’m looking for a spray on, rinse-off pre wash that does as much cleaning as possible before I touch the paint.

Ideally:

  • Applied with a pump sprayer, then rinsed with a pressure washer.
  • Safe for a ceramic coated car at the recommended dilution.
  • Good value per wash i don’t mind paying more for a concentrate if it lasts.

I’d prefer something that doesn’t need a foam lance, mainly for convenience and less mess on the driveway.

I enjoy detailing, but choosing products has become a rabbit hole. What have you used that made a noticeable difference, especially compared with other pre-washes you’ve tried? Product name and your usual dilution would be really helpful.

What should I advertise my Cat N 2016 Mazda2 Sport Nav for?

Looking for a realistic private-sale price for my Mazda2—not an optimistic dealer price.

Details:

  • 2016 Mazda2 Sport Nav
  • 1.5 SKYACTIV-G petrol
  • 90 PS / 89 bhp
  • Five-speed manual
  • 61,287 miles
  • White
  • Euro 6
  • Category N
  • Fresh MOT
  • Just serviced
  • New tyres
  • Factory 16-inch alloys, although they have some cosmetic wear/kerbing
  • Sat-nav
  • Cruise control
  • Automatic climate control
  • Rear parking sensors
  • Tinted rear windows
  • Automatic lights and wipers
  • Electrically folding mirrors
  • Apple Carplay

I don’t currently have the physical service history. I’m checking Mazda’s Digital Service Record, but for valuation purposes it may be safest to assume there’s no proven history apart from the latest service.

It drives properly and is otherwise in reasonable condition for its age, what would you advertise it for, and what offer would you realistically accept?

How much would evidence showing the original Cat N damage and repairs affect your valuation?

Complete beginner: my shots hit the net/walls or float into the middle — what should I fix first?

I’m a complete beginner (played about 15 games but no improvement) and struggling to develop any consistency.

A lot of my shots either:

  • Go into the net
  • Hit the opponent’s side or back wall before bouncing
  • Miss the ball completely because I’ve positioned myself badly
  • Float slowly into the middle of the court and become very easy to return

The floating shots happen because I’m worried about hitting long, so I play too cautiously rather than aiming anywhere difficult.

I’ve also been holding the racket with my index finger hooked through the opening just above the handle. I’ve now been told to change to a continental/hammer grip, with every finger wrapped around the handle and the index finger only slightly separated from the others.

I’m not currently trying to hit winners—I’d just like to develop a reliable neutral shot that clears the net, bounces before the wall and isn’t immediately attackable.

What should I concentrate on first: grip, positioning, contact point, racket-face angle or something else? Is there a simple target or drill you would recommend for building consistency?
