From buying to growing

I used to buy flower from my plug but high price and inconsistent quality (not legal where I live) pushed me to grow my own.

Now I have top shelf quality, smooth smoke, minimal cost and a HUGE personal stash ☺️

(These ladies will be ready late July or early August)

Grow #4 (Shower Grow #3)

This is my third grow in my shower setup. This is my equipment:

Lights: 3 x SF1000 for 300W total

AC: 10,000 BTU TLC Smart Window AC

Dehumidifier: Midea 20 Pint Cube (drains to shower floor)

Watering system: DIY with a marine faucet diaphragm pump (for self priming) with a Long/Short On-Off interval timer (allows me to have C seconds on, Y hours off). I can go a full week (in flowering) without having to even go in the room.

Temp/RH: monitored using the analog hygrometer seen in the photo (check) and a Govee WiFi one.

Feeding: General Hydroponics FloraTrio, CaliMagic, ArmorSI and KoolBloom Liquid. pH and TDS measured with an Apera PC60

Pots: 10 gallon pots with 20% perlite and 80% peat moss but because of a mistake, as I wanted to grow in coco and perlite. I wanted 5 gal pots but had these handy so decided not to buy.

The actual shower area is 1.2m x 0.8m and with my equipment I can control the environment down to +/- 5% RH and about +/- 2 C. My water reservoir holds 42L and has an internal pump to continuously mix water and nutrients.

My current grow are 2 x Auto LSD (2 in the back) and 2 x Auto Runtz (2 in the front). Germination was May 2nd.

I intend on drying for 10-12 days in the grow room and then cure in mason jars using Bóveda packets however this time I wanted to try their Vivi 10-day cure in a portion of the weed.

My last performance with this setup was 255g (9.1oz) I am aiming for 350g (12,5oz) this time around as I have been more successful.

There is some nutrient burn from my previous feed combination been too hot, but has been controlled since.

Edit 1: The grow room has a 6in inline fan with a carbon filter, door and window are sealed with gaskets and the bathroom is not in use, it is a dedicated grow room.

New price is too high

I started using Bevel in September 2025 and subscribed to the $6/month plan. I wear an Apple Watch Ultra 24/7, so I get excellent battery life and consistently track my workouts, daily activity, sleep, and overall health metrics. That integration is one of the main reasons I’ve enjoyed using Bevel.

However, once the subscription price increases to $15/month in October, I don’t plan to continue using the service. Even with the annual subscription option, I don’t believe the value justifies the cost, particularly because the AI features are not compelling enough to warrant the price increase.

In my experience, the AI frequently hallucinates and often functions more like an echo chamber than an intelligent coach. It tends to reinforce information that I’ve already provided rather than generating genuinely new insights or meaningful analysis.

One aspect I find particularly frustrating is that I already pay separately for ChatGPT, yet I can’t integrate my own ChatGPT account with Bevel. When I export my health data and analyze it directly with ChatGPT, I often get results that are just as useful as what Bevel provides. As a customer, I would much rather have the option to connect my own AI service than pay both for ChatGPT and for whatever LLM Bevel is using behind the scenes.

The AI component is a nice addition, but it’s not valuable enough to justify a $15/month subscription. For me, that price increase marks the end of my time with Bevel, and I’ll be looking for alternative solutions.
