Feminist musicals?

Well the title is pretty self explanatory but in my quest to watch alot of musicals I want to find some on a topic I love, feminism!
and wether that’s historical or just a musical with a overall feminist narrative I want it all.

(I’d just like to say that I’ve watched Suffs and SIX already, Suffs is probably top five if not top three musicals for me)

Maggots For Brains music video idea

So this is just a silly little visual I had last night I don’t think we’ll get a maggots for brains but a girl can dream so

(also possible TW for like.. kinda attempted suicide without suicidal intent??)

So on the lyric “my day was so mundane” it opens with Olivia walking through an empty street, the only color around her really is the street lamps which are yellow and her outfit which would be black and white and gray with touches of pink. And on “I don’t think I left the house“ she’d be looking around to “poured a cup of coffee tried to write nothing came out” still just walking.

On the line “somehow it’s the weekend I’m still bored out of my skull” she sees this faceless figure walk into a party so she follows him and on the lyric “I went to a party but only on principle“ (I imagined this party in kinda like a bar or a club not a house party) and the party is like pretty drab no ones really dancing the colors are pretty boring not much color

and she says “empty look at me” and just walking through the crowd

and then on the chorus and the line “I’m a zombie in my body” there starts being pink and red flashing lights and the parties colors get more pink and red toned and she starts dancing like pretty wildly and like idk what you call the zombie hands thing but she does that

and on “I feel dirty I feel rotten” she’s like just still dancing wildly and like maybe puts her hands in her hair (this whole vibe is basically her being a little crazy)

and then on, “the colors are all flat.” The lights stop but she’s still dancing and on “I’m a sad shell of a woman and I’ve got maggots for brains”, she sees the figure she saw walk in and he’s walking out so she starts pushing through the crowd and goes out the door and she’s running after him

on the line “everything feels moldy like the fruits that’s in my fridge” she’s still running down the sidewalk and looking left and right and decides to go right and then “everything that’s funny I wish I could tell to him” she’s looking for him

and then on the line “sometimes at a low point I even wish for a tragedy“ she kinda gets a mischievous look cause she sees a car approaching and walks out the street and looks over at the camera when she says “cause I know he’d come over and take real good care of me”

and she’s in the middle of an intersection so the people in the cars are yelling and she starts like dancing wildly again at the chorus and during the chorus on the line “I feel dirty I feel rotten” the police arrive red and blue flashing lights and she gets arrested but even in hand cuffs shes still dancing and the next shot is her in jail in like an orange jumpsuit (but like a cuter version of it yk) and on “what can I do? But think of you” (repeated) she’s in a jail cell but she ends up breaking out during that part too (however that is that she does it idk) and she’s walking on the street again this time in a orange jumpsuit on the last chorus back towards her house

and on the “what can I do but think of you” (repeated) she sees the figure walking into her house and just stares and tilts her head and her brows are like furrowed because she’s confused

(also even if the jail part isn’t logistically correct or whatever ITS A MUSIC VIDEO IDEA so it isn’t realistic)

just a silly little idea I wanted to share

Song recs/ anything I should know?

So I’ve started getting into this band because a few days ago Dream Of Me played in my Spotify queue, and usually I don’t let songs by artists I don’t know play but I had just skipped like 6 songs before it so I was like eh whatever and loved the song, I’m listening to the MADRA album right now, so what songs should I listen to next and is there anything I should know about the band or fanbase?? (also just random questions how big is Newdad?? Like I know their not that big but like on a level of niche to… not niche (I have a very mainstream music taste so it doesn’t matter to me just curious) and what genre do they count as?)

Which production of “Rent” should I watch??

the question is in the title, but I’ve decided that in my quest to watch musicals until I demonstrate ball knowledge that today I’ll be watching rent: however I was hit with a dilemma.

when I searched on YouTube I found two productions: one a VHS video form 1996 with the OBC. Which is interesting but the audio is incredibly hard to understand, I watched the first 54 seconds and could hardly understand a word, I’ve watched slime tutorials that are difficult to hear, multiple of them so it’s not a huge issue but the recording is also shaky and the quality isn’t great but it gives it a cool vibe so,

or… I found a professionally recorded version from 2008. That’s surely easier to hear and better quality, idk does anyone have some advice on this??

Orlando videos??

I went to the Orlando show back in March, I wasn’t able to get many videos and as it was already two months ago (🥲) its hard to find any.

so my question is does anyone have videos/ Pictures of the Orlando show?? particularly when he brought out the pride flag during people watching/ Astronomy/ the wishbone break and any other moments during the show, also if anyone has a video of the arena before the show started that’d be cool to see if I can see myself but that’s a long shot.

also if you have any videos of eshas set that’s highly appreciated.

I’ve seen none of the musicals on this wheel, everyday I will spin the wheel and a watch a musical which ever it lands on, given I have the time.
so far I have seen 4 musicals, Hamilton, Legally Blonde, Six and Cabaret.

the only rule this is I cannot not watch the movies, eg for Annie, or Matilda, I can watch a proshot if o can find it, however I will be mostly reliant on youtube slime tutorials so thank you to whoever uploads those. I can and likely will add to this list over time but here’s what I’m starting with

todays musical: Annie
