The widow isn't the MC, one of the friends is.

The original book's author is actually a character in the film. Not played by the author though. (In the first film anyway). The author is not the MC.

The first film was made in the 1940s.

The MC is invested with Uncle Sam.

I have about 10% of my pension pot in a Vanguard account as cash only as a safety buffer as I am retired.

Unfortunately this pays about 1.9% "interest".

Are there any similar providers who pay a better rate that I can transfer to please?

As per the title. I was thinking about getting an annuity with my DC pension fund but keep getting advised to look at bond ladders but I can't find a simple explanation as to what these are or how they work.

I have just received a letter from Jobcentreplus / ESA Oldham which says ESA can count as taxable income. "Because of changes in the allowance paid to you, the revised figures for taxation purposes are:"

Period Ending Tax Year 2025/26

Total Allowance Paid £4000.

Taxable Allowance £4000.

My question is does this mean that my tax code has changed from £12570 to £4000?

I am 60 in a few weeks and have just been put in the support group for ESA.

I have a couple of occupational pensions that will start paying out when I am 60, these total £650 per month.

When I get these, will my ESA stop?

How safe are annuities for retirement?

I am considering putting much of my pension fund in to annuity and whilst the companies quoting have been around for decades (Standard Life etc.) what happens to the annuity if they do go bust?
