Ash and Friends. Team rewrite. Pokémon: Capturing Our Dreams (Kanto). My AU.

Pokémon Teams Redone.

This is my personal rewrite of the Pokémon anime. Note, for this, I will be making Ash age fourteen instead of ten. He and his friends are all high school freshmen or older. Ash has just finished Junior High. They will be attending Pallet Town High School UNLESS chosen to go on a Pokémon Adventure.

So Ash woke up and sprinted to the lab, still in his pajamas. Only to realize he arrived slightly later than the other three kids who already claimed the three Pokémon so Oak gave Pikachu to Ash.

  • Jigglypuff: The first Pokémon they ever caught. She showed up, sang them to sleep, got mad, scribbled on their faces, and accidentally tapped one of Ash's Pokéballs, getting caught.
  • Spearow -> Fearow: I feel like Ash should’ve gotten a Spearow/Fearow instead of Pidgeotto/Pidgeot. I mean, I love the Pidgey line and I kinda get how it shows Ash’s growth with Pikachu. They caught the evolved form of the first Pokémon they failed to catch. But Spearow just fits Ash’s personality in gen 1 more. Also, catching the Pokémon that legit attacked him on day one shows more growth. Maybe it could be the same Spearow as before. It followed them for revenge. It came after them, battled Pikachu, lost, and was caught. Later evolved into Fearow while fighting off some Beedrill swarm.
  • Rhyhorn -> Rhydon:  A Pokémon I kinda feel bad for is Rhydon. It was the first ever Pokémon designed. But it barely gets any marketing. Ash should’ve had one on his team. Red should’ve used one in the games. But, nooo! Only Giovanni and Blue get them! This causes fans to always associate it with Giovanni and Team Rocket and the rival which are all negative. So in my AU, he captures a Rhyhorn in the Rock Tunnel. Basically, Bulbasaur’s capture episode but cave version. Though unlike Bulbasaur, it will in fact evolve.
  • Charmander -> Charmeleon -> Charizard: Same as canon. Abandoned by Damian. Adopted by Ash. Maybe it’ll evolve a little earlier than in canon. But will mostly stay the same.
  • Mankey -> Primeape: Catches it as a Mankey. It refuses to listen to Ash though. It evolves into a Primeape while competing in the tournament, Ash earning its respect, from that one episode with the deadbeat dad with the Hitmonchan. That guy is named Anthony, right? So, when Anthony offers to train Primeape for Ash if Ash would leave it behind, Ash actually says, “Heck, no. You can’t even care for your family. I’m not leaving my Pokémon with you.”

Now, I know you are probably wondering… WHO THE HECK IS MIDORI GREENFIELD!?

https://preview.redd.it/10yr9sqknljh1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=a6eeff46844f1ee5234eb84c41b213f8e4fa95bf

Remember this chick? In the opening when Pikachu runs under her legs? We’re making her an actual character.

Her name is Midori Greenfield.

She was born into a very wealthy household and while she enjoys her lavish lifestyle, she didn’t want to be DEFINED by it. She wants to go on adventures. She likes outdoorsy things. She is close with Ash due to their similar interests. She has a pet Clefairy. She wants to have experiences. Like, she hangs around with Ash because of all the crazy stuff that happens to him. She doesn’t seek glory or fame or collect badges. She just wants to collect MEMORIES. She is NEVER DRESSED for adventure. At all. She looks like she's ready for some fancy event or party. She's a Lass. But she loves being outside despite her fashion. Her friends just call her “Dori” though. She likes it. She was the trainer who chose Bulbasaur from Professor Oak.

So, in this AU, we get the bike theft and Spearow fight from Ash. Only Misty doesn’t confront him at the Pokémon Center. He fends off Team Rocket himself.

So in the forest, he encounters her. She purposely got herself lost so she could make more memories. It’s one of her quirks.
Her team is…

  • Bulbasaur: The Pokémon she chose from Professor Oak.
  • Clefairy: Her pet Pokémon from back home. She brought it with her on her adventure
  • Pidgeotto -> Pidgeot: She caught it some time before meeting Ash. Later evolves… some time. Not sure when yet. But it does. He is her main battler Pokémon.

Now obviously, we need to discuss Oak. His team is Exeggutor, Nidorino, Kangaskhan, Tauros, Dragonite, and Seaking. We never see Oak’s full team or anything. He isn’t a battler. But we know Oak was a trainer back in the day, so… it is confirmed that this is the team he used.

For this AU, Professor Oak is this strict, stern, serious, no nonsense professor. Very solitary and unusual. He only allows kids with potential to be trainers. He rarely gives out Starter Pokémon. Only doing so on April 1st. Pokémon Day. Where he gives three or four chosen trainers Pokémon and Pokédexes. Though sometimes he skips Trainer Day in general and doesn't make anyone trainers. At all. This means when he picked Ash and his friends to be trainers, it was a miracle. nd, yes. Oak is secretly dating Ash's mom. They are in a relationship. No, they have not told Ash. He would not take it well. Oak and Delia’s relationship is for comedy. Like it is so obvious and Ash never realizes while Brock, Misty, and Dori all look so uncomfortable, wondering if they should tell him.

So… Brock.

His team consists of…

  • Onix: Same as canon. His ace. Strongest one.

  • Chansey: He raised 9 siblings. He needed a Pokémon to help do that, so he caught Chansey.

  • Geodude: Same as canon.

  • Vulpix: Same as canon. He doesn’t get it until later though. So it isn’t present in the Gym Episode.

  • So… Ash and Dori get to Pewter. Pretty much same as canon but with the new teams (Chansey on Brock’s team). With Ash originally losing to Brock. Getting help from the rock salesman to train. Then beating Brock. Salesman revealing himself as Brock’s dad and back to stay and raise the kids so Brock can go on. Brock accepts and joins Dori and Ash. Then in Cerulean, we meet Misty. She remembers Ash for trashing her bike. Anyways, Ash goes to the gym. Shocked to find out Misty is the Gym Leader. Fights her Gym Team: Goldeen. Squirtle. Starmie. However, the win is much easier than it should’ve been. Squirtle wasn’t listening to her. When leaving the town, Team Rocket attacks. Sic a giant Tentacruel on the city. Ash, his friends, and Misty try to fight it off. It targets Squirtle. Goldeen evolves into Seaking to reach the turtle in time and intercept the hit. Taking the damage for him. The fish’s heroic action motivates Squirtle to fight alongside Misty. Despite this, they still can’t win until Misty’s useless, non-battling Psyduck gets a headache and comically DESTROYS Tentacruel. Misty captures the giant Tentacruel. Ash steals the Dig TM off of Jessie and James for…  ✨compenstation ✨ Anyways, the trio gets ready to leave but Misty decides to tag along. Why? She is going to follow Ash to the ends of the Earth until he pays her back for the bike.

Misty’s Team is…

  • Starmie: Her ace. Most commonly used Pokémon.
  • Goldeen -> Seaking: He proved he really is the king of the sea by saving Squirtle.
  • Squirtle: Lead firefighter of the Squirtle Squad. Mischievous but a good fighter.
  • Psyduck: Her comic relief. She wanted to leave him at the Gym but her sisters made her take him.
  • Tentacruel: The absolute GIANT. Her strongest Pokémon.
  • Togepi: Found Egg. With Brock’s help, she raised it and it hatched.

Now for the Team Rocket Trio!

Let’s make Meowth like the godfather. Deep voice. Italian accent. Sounds like a mafia mob boss. Comedy comes from his genuinely scary vibe and intimidating personality but in reality… he’s a Meowth. Those things are only one foot and four inches tall. Not very scary. Sure, most Pokemon cannot talk. But, like, Meowth can. See, for his origins…

He was one of the Pokémon tested and experimented on by Team Rocket. The tests made him hyper intelligent. So smart he taught himself human language. Giovanni purposely put him with the two worst henchmen to hold Meowth back because if there is a Grunt who could become equal or Arceus forbid, surpass and overthrow him… that would not be good

In this version, he is the leader of the trio. Jessie and James are his henchmen. He likes Jessie more though since she’s the more competent one.

We want to keep some of the goofy, cartoony comical relief charm they had in canon while still making them a threat and, like, Team Rocket is actually scary here. So… make them scary. But funny. Like Ghostface. Comedy horror.

So for Meowth's character here. He can battle. Very well. Very powerful Pokémon. But he only battles Pikachu. The two absolutely HATE each other. It is ON SIGHT! Meowth refuses to fight anyone who ISN'T Pikachu.

Jessie and James both have teams of three each.

Jessie’s Pokémon:

  • Ekans -> Arbok: Same as canon.
  • Lickitung: Same as canon.
  • Jynx: Not sure when Jessie’d catch her but her gag is that she wants all the spotlight, shoving the rest of the team aside to claim the spotlight. Competing with her trainer and teammates.

James’s Pokémon…

  • Koffing -> Weezing: Same as canon.
  • Victreebel: Same as canon. Only he has it AS a Victreebel. Had it like that from the start.
  • Slowpoke: I feel like it would be funny to see James try (and fail) to battle with a Pokémon as stationary and clueless as Slowpoke.

Now… rivals.

Ritchie Holden. (Yes, I made up a surname for Ritchie).

Maybe he could be a reoccurring rival. Just so we get built up and people can like him more. He was a childhood friend of Ash’s but his family moved. And like in canon, he’s basically a better version of Ash. Still all high energy, impulsive, overly friendly and cheerful, but he is smarter, more careful, and… yeah. Him and Ash get along GREAT. Amazing. Totally in sync. Zero malice or anything AT ALL. 100% friendship. No competition either. Like, when they're in a contest and battling, they're just complimenting and praising each other the entire time. Like in canon, his main Pokémon is a Pikachu named Sparky.

  • Pikachu (Sparky): Much more controlled and calmer than Ash’s Pikachu.
  • Butterfree (Happy): Much more docile and cheery than Ash’s Fearow.
  • Charizard (Zippo): Much more obedient and humble than Ash’s Charizard.
  • Poliwrath (Dizzy): Much more calm and steady than Ash’s Primeape.
  • Wigglytuff (Jelly): Much nicer and understanding than Ash’s Jigglypuff.
  • Sandslash (Spike): Much less stubborn than Ash’s Rhydon.

Gary Oak.

Gary Oak is better than Ash. Smarter. More careful. More money. Just... not as nice. Kind of a jerk. But has all the Pokémon knowledge and skill in the world. He is Oak's grandson. He loves when he has the chance to mock and undermine Ash. Calling him “Ashy-Boy” infuriates Ketchum to no end. Gary is completely unaware of the fact that Ash could absolutely DEMOLISH him in a fist fight. Oak CLEARLY favors his grandson over the others. I mean, he'll barely glance at Ash if Gary's doing something. Gary and Ash hate each other but are also friends. It is purely friendly competition. Frenemies. We see them get along just as much as they infuriate each other. A little friendly competition never hurt anyone. Gary’s team changes A LOT but he almost always keeps his Blastoise (he picked Squirtle from Oak) on it.

His team changes a lot between:

  • Blastoise
  • Nidoqueen
  • Nidoking
  • Golem
  • Arcanine
  • Scyther
  • Electabuzz
  • Eevee
  • Magmar
  • Raticate
  • Gyarados
  • Porygon
  • Machamp

So… yeah. It changes a LOT.

Also, forgot to mention this.

There's this other kid named Riku Sterling. Spiky, bright blue hair that sticks up in all directions. Sharp, determined amber eyes. A short-sleeved red zip-up vest over a black t-shirt, blue denim shorts, and red-and-white sneakers. A fingerless black glove on his left hand and a worn leather pouch for his Poké Balls. Eager, competitive, and fiercely loyal to his friends. Loves fire types. Wants to prove Fire can beat any type advantage—even Water. He wants to become the Gym Leader in Cinnabar to take over from the should-be-retired-aged Blaine. But... yeah. He chose Charmander from Oak. He almost NEVER appears. Only shows up a couple times.

So, finally…

Giovanni. The Leader of Team Rocket.

Despite being a Ground-Type Gym Leader, he doesn’t stick to his typing very much. LIke, he has so many unfair Pokémon on his team. Only two of them are Ground-Type.

Giovanni’s Team is…

  • Persian: His favorite Pokémon.
  • Pinsir: To handle those pesky Grass-Types.
  • Gyarados: To handle any fighting. Its Flying-Typing gives it resistance to Fighting attacks.
  • Gengar: All kinds of moves like Hypnosis and other magical attacks to throw off enemies.
  • Dugtrio: One of his two Ground Pokémon.
  • Shiny Rhydon: This is Giovanni’s strongest Pokémon. The symbol of Team Rocket. Basically, we’re gonna have Ash’s Rhydon vs Giovanni’s Rhydon. Peak fiction.

And… yeah. Those are all my teams for now. I may do more later. I don’t know. This is just how I would write the Pokémon Anime.

Yeah. I could really use some comments and upvotes on this. It look me SO LONG!

Please tell me your opinions in the comments!

How I would make a version for older audiences.

Show Cover

So, we all know that CW sucks at writing Powerpuff Girls.

So, me, a random person with a laptop and google docs will be making my own pitch.

I have done some changes like making the girls mixed race and making them SLIGHTLY older but only to age 8.

I don't think we need to change a whole lot though. Just mature what is already there.

Can someone please make some MUs for my OCs?

So… in this world, anthro animals rule. See, humans used them as lab rats and abused them until they snapped and killed off all humanity. As far as they know.

Basically, one million years ago, the sun was going to explode. However, animals (who have evolved to be anthropomorphic) used a magic that humans cannot replicate. Astra. Many animals used the Astra to stop the explosion of the sun and rebuild the dead star. They stopped the explosion from hurting anyone and saved the world. Instead of being loved and worshipped, humans locked the animals away and did testings on them. I’m talking Human Centipede-level torture.

Anyways. Astra is… like Quirks from My Hero Academia. No, I do not watch that. I barely know anything about it. I just know what the basics are. But anyways, Astra is an ability that everyone is born with. Everyone has their own unique ability. Though some people may have the same ones as things like flight, heat vision, super strength, and many others are quite common. Some are super cool and flashy while other Astras are simply party tricks. Everyone has their own. Most people, at least. This energy flows through 99.98% of the population. It is the fundamental building block of society.

So eventually the animals snapped and killed all humans. Due to the animals’ access to Astra, the humans were killed off easily. The war was one-sided. The animals won and renamed their species to… Animar. Yes. I know it is only a one letter difference. Everyone thought it was stupid. Like, when the head of the purge announced it, everyone pointed out how their new name was LITERALLY A TYPO! This is a common source on comedy in political history.

Now one million years in the future…

As the premier geopolitical superpower of the modern era, the current Animar government is a bloated, highly bureaucratic regime that prioritizes political PR and rigid filing systems over actual societal welfare. The military infrastructure is heavily reliant on a continuous draft of young recruits, regularly sending young adult Animar with high natural Astra reserves to the front lines to act as glorified, disposable batteries for state defensive grids. At the absolute apex of this rigid military ladder stands General Percival Pembroke (a Pompous Peacock), a deeply stressed, image-obsessed Peacock commander who desperately tries to maintain an aura of stoic leadership while his conventional armies crumble against unprecedented threats.

The jewel of the General's armed forces is Commander Ricochet, a one-foot-tall Jerboa who graduated top of her class at the elite Citadel academy. Armed with game-breaking physical Astra that grants her terrifying super-strength and devastating dropkicks, Ricochet is fiercely serious, deeply disciplined, and completely unmatched in combat. However, at this point in the timeline, she is still firmly entrenched in her military duties, completely unaware of the existence of Dax and Mako, viewing all freelancers as sloppy, uneducated amateurs who are just playing hero.

However, a survivor of the purge a million years ago, Lady Hexidecimal, used anti-aging tech to survive and go into hiding to ready an attack to cleanse this planet and bring back what was stolen from her. She has formed an army. Using anti-aging tech on all of them. Forming a society underground.

Though everybody involved in the original purging is passed away. All the Animar who assisted are dead. It was one million years ago. What do you expect? No current living people assisted at all.

Dax Virel the Pug, a laid-back sword-wielding mercenary, and his slightly younger cousin, Mako Trenor, systems architect and field engineer, are a duo of young mercenaries trying to get by.

Dax is known for his high-speed melee combat, elemental sword techniques, absurd durability, and improvised platforming nonsense. Mako builds gadgets, vehicles, traps, explosives, and traversal tools. The cousins make a good team and… well, they’re still mercenaries. They’re gonna ask for a price. Like, they need money. They’re just somewhat nicer than other mercenary teams. Though they may not accept. Dax has some…  tension  with the military.

See, the cosmic sacrifice of the sun’s restoration left a rare, permanent genetic scar on the global population known as the Astra Defect. Affecting a microscopic 0.02% of the world, this rare disorder completely strips an Animar of the natural cellular channels required to generate, store, or manifest Astra energy. To a society built entirely on the foundation of natural superpowers, an individual born with the Astra Defect is viewed as a broken, highly vulnerable anomaly, often sidelined by a rigid bureaucracy that views them as completely unfit for modern state service.

Dax Virel is a tall, lean, 19-year-old anthropomorphic pug. He wears a red jacket, white shirt, black pants, black shoes, and commonly carries around his special claymore. His Astra WOULD’VE been Speed but, no. He belongs to the isolated 0.02% of the population that is cursed with Astra Defect. Despite this, Dax refused to be defined by his disability and tried to join the military and become a soldier. Despite his exceptional performance and obvious qualifications, he was rejected due to his lack of Astra. This caused him to go into a darker state until Mako, his cousin, encouraged him to use his physical talents for something else.

So the two become mercenaries. Dax, as the leader, forms The Loose Ends. Their team.

To compensate for his lack of Astra, Dax is equipped with his claymore that Mako built. An item that not only gives Dax access to his natural Speed Astra that he lacked due to his disability, but also gives him access to the Fire Astra. The blade of the sword literally sets on fire, allowing Dax to perform physics-defying feats like creating energy slashes of fire to attack from afar or cause miniature (sometimes full sized) tornadoes of FIRE! Combining this with Dax’s Speed Astra, Mako’s basically transformed his cousin into an ultimate super soldier. This weapon is called…  The Ignition Edge .

Mako Trenton is a tall and lean 18-year-old Welsh Corgi Animar. He wears an orange hoodie, black pants, and brown shoes. His Astra is that he has an INSANELY high IQ. Very good with tech and gadgets. He built Dax’s claymore. While Mako himself is lacking in combat skill and direct hand-to-hand stuff, he makes up for it with extreme skill in technology. He is very good with his weapons. He’s a master marksmen with blasters. He can make force fields. EMPs. Laser turrets. His main weapon is this one device that looks like a normal cube. He carries it around. On the top of the cube is a keyboard. He taps some buttons to turn it into the weapon he wants. This trapdoor on the front of the cube opens and is attached with the weapon. It can be a blaster. A chainsaw. A retractable boxing glove. Grenade launcher. Hammer. Sword. Minigun. Machine gun. Sniper rifle (in sniper mode, the top of the cube gains a scope). This weapon is called…   The Cube-O-Matic . Mako wears the Cube-O-Matic like a backpack most of the time. In combat, he just holds it the way one would carry a box. The Cube-O-Matic is about one foot tall and is VERY HEAVY. So Mako is commonly weighed down by it and drags behind on the field. Comically struggling to keep up with his speedier cousin, gasping for air, and left exhausted. However, compared to the usefulness of the Cube-O-Matic, this is a minor setback.

The current army can’t do a darn thing against Lady Hexadecimal so the cousins are their only hope. Is this legal? I mean, they’ll be in the fight themselves. In combat but… it’s either hire The Loose Ends. Or genocide.

Basically, the plot will revolve around Dax and Mako being hired for this and to ensure them that this isn’t a suicide mission, Pembroke is having Ricochet tag along. Telling the cousins, “If this was a suicide mission, why would we send our best soldier on it?”

So. Yeah. Dynamic trio. Speed. Brain. Strength. Laidback and easygoing fast guy. Happy go lucky tech guy. And super serious and strict strong lady.

So, I have images of the characters but I had to use AI to make them since my drawing skills are non-existent. And NOW THAT I KNOW that AI isn't allowed here... so... no images. But I'll describe what they look like.

Dax Virel is a 19-year-old anthropomorphic pug. He wears a red jacket, white shirt, black pants, black shoes, and commonly carries around his special claymore, the Ignition Edge. he has brown ears, brown snout, and tan fur.

Mako Trenton is an 18-year-old anthropomorphic corgi with orange and yellow fur. Orange hoodie. Black pants. And brown books. Wears the Cube-o-Matic like a backpack.

Commander Ricochet is an anthropomorphic jerboa. Light brown fur. Orange eyes. Tail with a dark brown tip. Green military uniform and hat.

Lady Hexadecimal is a human woman with an elegant yet terrifying fusion of human and skeletal, life-sustaining cybernetics. She wears a high-collar, imperial gown made of obsidian-black smart fabrics layered over a glowing, external cybernetic chassis that visibly pumps neon-blue stasis fluids directly into her veins to keep her ancient body from decaying. Her face has no emotion, framed by long, silver-white hair that floats subtly in the air due to her personal anti-aging electromagnetic field. Her original eyes have been replaced by a glowing, digital crimson visor lens that constantly streams scrolling green code.

So... for Dax, I see him fighting Sonic the Hedgehog. Fox McCloud. Or Deku.

Hexadecimal could fight against maybe Eggman or Andross.

Not so sure about the other two.

Please tell me your thoughts on matchups for them and what you think about the story in general.

So... sadly, I was born without the ability to draw good. So whenever I have an OC idea, I have to use AI. Which is a shame because if I post them anywhere, they will get called AI slop. So if someone could please draw them without the usage of AI, that would be great.

So. Yeah. Dynamic trio. Speed. Brain. Strength. Laidback and easygoing fast guy. Happy go lucky tech guy. And super serious and strict strong lady.

The Powerpuff Girls vs Thomas, Percy, and James (Cartoon Network vs Mattel) | "Sugar, Spice, and Everything Useful"

OST: \"Sugar, Spice, and Everything Useful\"

Core Theme: Two red, blue, and green trios from kid shows that teach life lessons.

Connections:

  • Both trios are from shows that took a massive childhood obsession— superheroes and trains—and used them as a tool to teach kids about sharing, managing anger, teamwork, emotional responsibility, and other life lessons.
  • Both trios have a cheery, but sometimes bossy, leader with the primary drive of making their authority figures proud (Blossom and Thomas)
  • Both trios have a member who is defined by their massive ego and short temper (Buttercup and James)
  • Both trios have a member who is defined by their bubbly and innocent personalities and are commonly underestimated by the other team members (Bubbles and Percy)
  • Both trios can be prone to infighting and arguing which gets in the way of their jobs. However, these conflicts are always resolved at the end of the day.
  • Both are called to work by a short, chubby, top hat-wearing old man who is in a position of authority (The Mayor of Townsville and Sir Topham Hatt)
  • Both trios commonly deal with a dramatic, violent villain who wants to take over the world (Mojo Jojo and Diesel-10)
  • Despite the common conflict with said villains, both trios have had friendly interactions with their adversaries
  • Both trios commonly deal with a gang of troublesome delinquents who enjoy causing mayhem (Gangreen Gang and Troublesome Trucks)

I grew up with Thomas & Friends as a kid and have recently been learning about the Powerpuff Girls and their lore and scaling. So I wanted to pit these two trios against each other and I was surprised to find out they actually had a few decent connections.

As for fight potential, we need to use composite versions of the engines to give them a fighting chance. This is the only way this works as a fight. Without composite, the Powerpuff Girls absolutely STOMP. Compositing the engines makes sure the fight is at least a little bit close. This way they get all their magic, hax, and some DC scaling with crossovers.

I feel like the dialogue and banter really carry this MU. Imagine the Powerpuff Girls narrator and Thomas's narrator fighting over lines and arguing. Along with the girls and the engines all arguing and bashing heads.

Now, this is very much not the best matchup for either and there are certainly better MUs out there but I am not pitching this as a legit Death Battle episode. I made this for fun while on a nostalgia run for Thomas.

Is it perfect? No.

But is it fun, interesting, and something I'm proud of? Yes.

Script for Opthomas Prime vs Optimus Prime Bird | "It's Prime Time"

This is an MU I found and LOVED. So much nostalgia. So I wrote a script for it.

Also, for a fight like this, I got rid of the "No outside help" rule due to fusions and backup being what makes these characters so unique and good in combat. Removing that really cuts off fight potential.

Prime Time. Is. Now.
