Since they are now becoming active, I’m going to remind everyone that taking a box turtle from the wild or owning one in general without a permit is highly illegal. They are a species that do poorly in captivity, and have an extremely low birth rate thus, the reason that they classified vulnerable

There are so many other turtles you can get as a pet that are not native to Missouri. They aren’t even that much freaking money. Just go to a reptile show!
