considering pharm at 25 vs accounting

hi! So like the title says, I’m 25, I graduated a couple years ago with a BS in psychology thinking id go down that path but ended up not pursuing higher ed in that field. Fumbled around a few different jobs and career possibilities and just haven’t landed on anything. My option as of right now was go back to school, take courses needed to sit for my CPA and financial planning license and just do that in corporate. I absolutely hate everything about corporate finance culture but I’m decently good at accounting and it makes solid money plus I would be able to work in about a year ish.

Healthcare is something I’ve always been drawn to but didn’t want to ever be a full provider like md/pa/np and I never really thought about pharmacy honestly don’t know why. I do have some science credits under my belt, about half of the credit hours most schools would need for prerequisites so just missing a few classes. I do like the option of residency and going inpatient. I’m not looking to make millions of dollars a year, but I do want to be financially stable and not live paycheck to paycheck if possible (currently single no kids as well). I took several pharmacology and neuroscience classes for my degree and it was so much fun I really loved the coursework. So many ppl discourage pharm on here and I understand the perspective of many people, but I’m so torn on what to do even though I know it’s a decision only I can fully make.

I guess I just want to hear from people who are in it, good and bad opinions. I know people say pay is low for the work that is done so I do have to think about that. There’s so many conflicting opinions and my brain is mush trying to figure this decision to go apply to pharm school or just suck it up and do corporate accounting. Any help is appreciated :)

new cbc report + symptoms - help

Hi everyone. I am F25 and have a laundry list of symptoms unfortunately. I have just been diagnosed with MCAS by my immunologist who did notice some high CBC levels and said may just be something to look further into for PV. I do have a hematologist for former anemia a long time ago but that was over 5 years ago I saw him. I had my CBC checked in April of this year and these were the levels:

APRIL- RBC 5.44 / HGB 14.7 / HCT 46.6 / WBC 7.2 / MCV 86 / MCH 27 / MCHC 31.5 / RDW 12.9 / Platelets 287 / neutrophils 3.9 / lymphs 2.6 / monocytes 0.5 / Eos 0.1 / baso 0

Now I know here the second two are within normal range. They have been continuously going up for years now. I had everything checked again earlier this month for the MCAS stuff and it changed to:

JULY- RBC 5.88 / HGB 15.8 / HCT 49.3 / WBC 7.8 / MCV 85 / MCH 27.1 / MCHC 32 / RDW 12.5 / Platelets 320 / neutrophils 4.1 / lymphs 3.2 / monocytes 0.4 / Eos 0.1 / baso 0

My ferritin was also checked and it’s not super high but it is higher than before (4 when anemic–>17–>34 now)

My immunologist suggested maybe going to the hematologist again due to these symptoms: (he did say these could also be MCAS but they may not be at the same time (the symptoms from mcas also include allergic reactions/sneezing which I know isn’t PV)

SYMPTOMS:
- feel like passing out when I shower if it’s even mildly warm
- severe fatigue that has worsened a lot recently. I have to sit when showering because I get so tired when washing my hair, I need multiple naps during the day if I have the opportunity and if I don’t I feel like I’m walking through quick sand, can sleep 12+ hours a night and feel like crap
- I wear an oura ring and it has detected for the last month I’ve been getting some fevers overnight from my baseline temp
- I’ve started sweating SO much, not night sweats though, whenever it’s even the slightest bit of warmth or sun I am drenched
- skin is itchy (not crazy itchy) and get red splotchy if I scratch at all after I shower

Overall, I just always feel like I was hit by a bus for lack of better words. I’m either always feeling sick or exhausted or uncomfortable in my own body. I’m considering maybe doing another CBC panel at labcorp through my own self order since it’s cheap through them just to make sure it wasn’t dehydration or a fluke or something. I would not want to take up a doctors time from a patient who needs it more, but don’t want to not go incase I do need it. I appreciate any words of advice as I’ve been bounced around by so many docs for my MCAS and just would hate to add on more problems :(

EDIT: i dont smoke/drink, no suspicion for sleep apnea (no snoring/no breathing issues/don't wake up in the middle of sleep), my GYN is also checking a hormone panel to look on that front for the fatigue

PV & MCAS

hi everyone. i am 25F for reference. So ive been running around to doctor after doctor for about a year. I've finally gotten one doctor to listen to me and he is pretty sure I am dealing with MCAS. I've noticed for several years that my RBC/Hemoglobin/Hematocrit has been on an upward trend (RBC is always "abnormal" high) but never really thought much of it as nobody has seemed concerned. I used to be anemic a long time ago due to ridiculously heavy periods but that has since resolved. My new allergist ran some labs (I also had these done 3 months ago) and everything is still going up. my RBC now sits at 5.83, HGB is 15.8 which i think is still normal range, and HCT is 49.3 which flagged as high. I do have tons of symptoms but I keep attributing it to MCAS which has a lot of random allergies to things im not actually allergic to, but more recently have noticed that i cant really even take a warm shower anymore without feeling like im going to pass out and i am so incredibly itchy/red splotchy after, fatigue is crazy i have to set alarms 2 hours before waking up to crawl out of bed, and need naps throughout the day, but nothing else that screams PV to me. Again, i assumed it was my histamine overactivity.

I essentially wanted to see if anyone here has ever dealt with both PV and MCAS/allergy issues? i have such a hard time distinguishing what is causing what and I would love to not have to go through another round of a million doctors again :(

Considering law school - so overwhelmed

hi everyone! so I have a bit of a non-traditional background. I graduated from a small liberal arts college in 2024 with a 3.52 and BS in psychology. I had no plans of going into law at that time and I graduated with barely any sense of what I wanted to do with my career. I've jumped around a lot honestly. The only good thing on my resume from college was that I was a presidential scholarship recipient and have a psychology research publication under my belt. After college i sort of job hopped which I know is not the best but I was so utterly confused. I also went through a period of some health troubles that are now all squared away luckily but it made keeping a job hard at the time. Now that I have finally had time to sit back and think about what do I want to do, I started looking into law.

I live in Georgia and would want to try my best to stay in state for law school for certain family reasons, although it's not fully off the table to go out of state as long as its not across the country. I took a 2 LSAT exams without studying/prep out of pure curiosity to see where I stand and the first one i got a 152 and the second one i got a 154 and I did them both timed.

Essentially, I have been researching the whole admissions process, reading other threads, watching videos of experiences, and there is so much information to process. It doesn't seem difficult to understand in terms of what I actually need to do to get in and my chances for certain schools, but I am curious if there is a good resource that other's have used to sort of break down the full process. I've gone through websites of the schools i'm potentially interest in, LSAT registration and its changes, etc, but im struggling the most with timeline. I feel like it may be too late for me to try for fall 2027 because I haven't even registered for an lsat nor have I cracked open a book to start studying for it, but just want any advice/tips or anything people can offer!
