Router table

Alright I think this is about right. Any suggestions to make this more efficient? Just need to cut the hole in the middle. Hand tools only too dead gum hot to be outside.

Workbench on chest of drawers

Hi All,

I am trying to get this plank of laminated 2x4 SYP (pine) to rest on an old chest of drawers. The vise is attached and needs part of the top cut out for clearance. I am thinking this will need more structural support as the section I am removing will likely weaken the carcass and base. I plan is to just take a router down the two blue lines, remove that section, make a few cross beams in the cabinet and a couple more 2x4” vertical under the vise for support. Is this insane or could work?

I am new to the router but it seems like a straight bit down the blue lines should remove the top section.

Thoughts / suggestions??

Shooting board ideas

Anyone have any innovative ideas for this shooting board? I just built and it’s amazing to get boards square. But this one is super simple . There must be some tricks to make better or more functional on other tasks.

Thanks !

Which area should I mount this 9” yost vice? On outside of leg or on the inside? I am thinking flush to the leg on the left -(right side towards the center) but heck I really don’t know - and does it have to be flush with the bottom ? This vise is a little over 3-1/2” from mount to top. With the 2x4s on side just a little bit too high - recommended shim size? Another 2x4 ?

Hi all-

Just seeing if anyone has advice on installing this chunk of a vise. Would like to keep flush with top and leg on the back part but seeing if install on the leg would be a bad idea… or on the Front corner
