Ghost in the Shell #3 (of 8) as printed by Dark Horse comics, was my introduction not just to GitS, but manga as a whole.

Spring,1995. Flush with Basic Training pay and finally free to go off base, I found A little comic shop outside Keesler AFB. I'd only read American superhero comics up to this point, and I bought this out of curiosity, and because I liked the cover art.

Reading it, I was bewildered, shocked, even a little grossed out! But I was enthralled, and needed more. Waiting for the next month's issue, I started checking out other manga: Ranma ½, Oh My Goddess...I've been a manga fan ever since.

Forgive an old head for rambling, but this chapter of Ghost in the Shell is special to me, and getting to see it animated after 30 years was really cool.
