Are any Portland metro private clubs worth it?

I’m 34 and live in NW Portland (Slabtown). I work from home and I’ve been tempted to join a club for a couple years but haven’t pulled the trigger. It’s hard to justify the cost when clubs like Columbia edgewater and PGC are 20-30 minutes away, worse with traffic. Not sure I’d get the actual value (really just care about the golf and golf facilities) if I can’t pop over quickly before or after work for a quick 9 a couple times a week. Anyone been in a similar situation or joined a club in the past few years with thoughts?

Pre-batched Cocktails

Just saw a new eaterpdx post about a new cocktail bar opening up (Eldorado) and they’re promoting pre-batched cocktails to account for weekend crowds.

Totally get prepping for crowds to keep things moving but I’m totally out on paying $12-$17 for a pre-made drink. Is it irrational to expect a freshly mixed drink when you’re out at a cocktail bar now?

Silver Medallion Perks?

Just hit silver medallion status for the first time and I’ve seen a lot of mixed perspective on how good/valuable it actually is. Does anyone actually get upgraded anymore? Are there any other tangible perks you’ve experienced in 2026?

First Person POV Challenges?

I’ll preface this by saying I love the series and got very invested in the characters and story. I just finished the first trilogy and the only thing I found weird is that the story is told from Darrow’s POV but there’s so much ‘surprise’ and maneuvering/plotting happening that he knows about, but doesn’t narrate.

Anyone else find that gap a little goofy?

Take a Break, or Power Through?

I just blasted through the first three books in about a month. I am debating going straight into book four or taking a break for a stand alone or another series. Thoughts or recommendations from anyone that’s finished the series?
