A script where the Politician is actually “elected”.

All Outsiders on this script are Politicians (or Hermits, solely on script to allow the ST to remove some at their discretion). As with any multi-Politician script, only ONE can change alignment at the end of the game.

And on this script, the way that’s decided is not ST dependent. Instead, at the end of the game, if evil wins, all players close their eyes and secretly point to the player they think was most responsible for the good team losing.

If there is no clear and obvious winner, no Politicians change teams. This likely means that no Politician was most responsible for good losing.

If the player most players choose is not a Politician (TF, Minion, Demon) no Politicians change teams.

If the player most players choose *is* a Politician, that player changes teams and wins.

Thoughts? Would this be fun?

Nightwatchmen/Vortox

We know that the Almanac describes a situation where, if the Nightwatchmen and Vortox are both in play, the NWM has their ability but the person who receives the ping is told the wrong player is the NWM.

My question is, could you tell the ping the correct player but the wrong character? Like perhaps you show the NWM ping the High Priestess token but show them the actual Nightwatchmen player?

Am I interpreting this right?

The first is my download speeds over my cable internet. The second is my download speeds over my At&t 5G cell service. I tested both twice.

Does this mean that if I got 5G home internet in my area, it would be WAY stronger than my cable? That seems too good to be true.

Central District, how bad is 5G home internet?

Astound is the only provider of cable internet in my building and it’s honestly so bad that it’s almost as if I have no internet at all. My only other option is to switch to 5G with a different provider but I’m worried it will make it much harder to actually access things.

Does anyone have it and use it for streaming, and if so, how is it? Anyone can answer but preferably people in Central District would be appreciated :)

An Outsider that can add itself

Almanac: https://bloodstar.clocktica.com/p/Kiosk/Worm/almanac.html

We all know that there are only so many characters that can modify the Outsider count so I always like to explore other ways to do so. In this case, the Worm is the reverse of Hermit in that, instead of being able to remove itself from play, it can add itself (though it doesn‘t have to add itself, in a Base 1 game it can be the sole outsider, or it can be an additional).

Not only that, but its ability is specifically predicated upon “is there really a Worm in play?” and creates consequences for players who disagree.

Storm Caught Gambler

The Bootlegger should be very obvious but: the Gambler can still die to their own ability even though they’re Storm Caught. They just can’t die to any evil abilities, including Assassin.

It’s a Gambler script where a ton of people are likely to lie and the Gambler has to carefully use their ability to figure out whose who (or who isn’t). There is also a risk in outing who they have “confirmed” (due to the Goon and Innkeeper) and a risk in outing who is lying (due to the Damsel).

Thoughts? How could I improve this?

What makes a Demon strong?

I see this topic come up a lot, and I always find it interesting which Demons people find strong or weak and why.

For example, I consider the Vigormortis and the Kazali to be two of the strongest Demons in the entire game. Most people, myself included, agree their abilities themselves are quite weak, but from my perspective, what makes both so incredibly strong is that they give the evil team SO much control over the narrative AND knowing it’s a Vig/Kaz game doesn’t immediately give the good team any information about how to kill the Demon. Compare this with, say, Lord of Typhon, where, even though the ability is incredible, the LoT has no control over which players are which Minions and once the good team knows it’s a Typhon game, they find a likely Minion and kill their neighbors.

So I ask, if you think certain Demons are ”weak” or “strong”, what in your opinion, quantifies that? I’m curious to hear y’alls thoughts.

Can your script have this character confirm itself on your custom script?

If you’re making a custom script for the first time, this little guide is for you!

I see a lot of custom scripts on here and a very common mistake is not knowing when to make a character ability “self-confirming”.

Self-Confirming can be defined as this: If a character uses their ability, usually publically but sometimes privately, and the only way that can possibly happen on your script is if that player is 100% telling the truth about being that character, and there is no way for an evil (or sometimes good) player to convincingly fake that interaction happening, a character is “self-confirming”. They have proven themself as that character.

Most of the time, this is something you as a custom scriptmaker want to avoid, as this can significantly favor one team over the other, making your script imbalanced. You usually want there to be at least two explanations for anything that happens in the game. Many characters across the Base scripts and Experimental roles risk this but it is almost always BMR roles since they function much different than strictly information roles.

If a role can confirm themself, especially one who can confirm players as 100% good, you need to have a significant consequence to doing so. A classic example is the Virgin, in Trouble Brewing you can confirm yourself to town in a way that an evil player cannot fake, but the cost of doing so is that town kills a (usually) Townsfolk in the process of doing so, giving the evil team a slight advantage in their kill ratio. However, if you have a role like the Tea Lady on script, and they are the only ability on your script that can cause a player to survive execution, town knows that if a player survives execution, both neighbors of the Tea Lady AND the Tea Lady themself are good, which can confirm three good players in the process, right away, with almost no consequences to the good team, which sets the evil team back significantly. This is why Bad Moon Rising has the Devil‘s Advocate character, so that the evil team can ”fake” being the Tea Lady or being protected by the Tea Lady, so that the good team has to be a little more careful about how they interpret what happens.

In order to help you write your custom script, I have compiled a list of characters (icons only, let me know if you are stuck finding the character names) that could theoretically prove themselves to be their roles, and I have fit them into categories of whether or not it is okay to have them confirm themself. I will get into more specifics in the comments because there will no doubt be a lot of passionate discussion and disagreements about this ☺️. But I think this is a fairly solid list and I sincerely hope it helps you on your next custom script endeavor!

Storm Caught Chambermaid

A fun script where the Chambermaid is Storm Caught. All four Demons each yield different Chambermaid info, the Yag will never wake wake only N1, while the Pukka will wake every night including N1, the Shab will have normal waking patterns, and the Vortox will have normal waking patterns but cause the Chambermaid to receive false info.
