I’m the only one of my girls who loves golf, and I’ve been struggling to find a ladies group I’ll like. I signed up for ladies league at my course, I’ve been playing with them for 3 years, and we still have nothing in common.
probably because most of them are 20 years older (I’m 45).
Is there anyone who found a squad outside of regular group?
I’m 16 y married, my husband is in recovery. I had his sponsor for dinner last night. He told me something I always felt instinctively, when I’ve read so many stories here.
Nobody should date or start relationship with an alcoholic who is not in his second year of sobriety. He said that the first year he, and many others he knew spent their first sobriety year rebuilding their own personality and relearning how to build and maintain relationship. It’s not a good mindset for dating. He went intentionally celibate for 20 months and plans to start working on finding the right person. But he said he wasn’t nearly ready before, and other people he knows only ended up hurting feelings of those they were dating.
