What's the Best Way to Pay for Dental Work?

Hello guys, I recently went to the dental office and was informed that I would need a root canal and four crowns. The crowns cost 1420 and the root canal cost around 800. I am a broke a*s student with a part time job with no good pay. I am very unfamiliar with how dental work process is and how I can get discounts. There is no dental schools near me that would do the work that I need except hygiene schools. The only options I think I have is Carecredit or Dental Plans. I was looking at Cigna, and honestly about 27% off is not that bad per crown, but it is still ALOT. I am thinking about financing with CareCredit with the deferred interest option, but I am a bit fyy about it. I ask the dental office if they would give discounts with I pay with cash (I borrow from family members), but they said they don't give discounts (which is very weird). So what do you guys recommend? Should I do Cigna, or Carecredit? Do you guys have any other options that helped?

What is this?

Hi, I recently visited the dentist and was advised to get a root canal and to address a small bubble-like spot. Could someone please explain what that spot is? Do I need a root canal to treat it? It doesn't hurt and isn't visible on the surface.

Additionally, I have a couple of side questions: I’ve had multiple fillings done, and now they are aching—Is that normal? Also, I had a filling placed on one of my top molars, and when I run my tongue over it, it feels deep and smooth, unlike my other molars which have more pronounced anatomy. Is this okay? And is it normal to get 9 fillings in 30 mins with two deep cavities?

Thank you!

How do you study for Anatomy and Physiology?

Hi, my question is about taking notes for my A&P course. The class has both lecture and lab components, and both are online. I'm really confused about how I should approach note-taking.

I currently take notes during the lecture, but when I try to take notes for the lab, it feels like the same content with some different definitions, which makes it confusing and repetitive. I’ve also tried taking handwritten notes for both lecture and lab, but I realized that’s a waste of time because I don’t retain much that way.

Then, I attempted making flashcards on Quizlet, but it feels like I’m not truly learning, and I end up with a huge pile of scattered flashcards. I’ve also tried using OneNote, but because I have OCD, I get stuck on formatting details, which slows me down.

Could you please help me figure out a better way to take effective notes? I really want to understand and retain the material better. Thank you!

Edit: What I wanted to ask is how you guys study for A&P your approach, and THEn how you guys take notes. I just read my post and it was kinda messy

How Can I know I have Insurance?

Hi, Idk if this is a stupid question, but how can I know if I have insurance? So basically a family member had opened the account for me, but now we are not in good terms. The username and password that person provided, when I input in the HealthyBlue.com, it says incorrect. Is there any way I can call a number, or know I have insurance?

Hello, I am a new tech, and my instructor is very quick because he has had 10 years of experience being a tech, and expects me to be like him even though this is my first job ever. can someone please, please tell me the steps for these:

  1. How to make delivery from RxConnect to a patient wanting it deliver?

  2. How to request a refill?

  3. What do when "no script is found" when a patient punches in the system?

  4. Can you make a patient in pharmacy a waitlist and fill a rx for a prescription scheduled to be filled a few months later?

  5. How to enroll someone in Syncscript and Readyfill

Please also include anything you wanted someone to teach you or you think is helpful to know. Also, how do I know what role I will have in pharmacy for that day?

I will pray for you and thank you for your kindness and help 😭❤️

Hello guys, the title says it all. Whenever I have to lookup a patient at any workstation, I have a hard time figuring out their name's spelling. This because I am more used to middle eastern name and European name and it takes even more time getting it wrong and then asking for the spelling. I now usually tell them to spell their last and first name, is it bad?
