OINP PSW / Healthcare – 88 points – Central Ontario
Quick question for people who are following the new OINP Workforce Priority Stream.
I’m a PSW (NOC 33102) working full-time in Central Ontario, and my OINP score is 88 points.
My PGWP expires January 22, 2027, so I’m getting really worried about the timeline.
Based on the current situation, do you think 88 points for NOC 33102 in Central Ontario is competitive enough for the healthcare draw? Any predictions on when the first healthcare draw might happen?
If there is a draw in October and I receive an ITA, is it realistically possible to receive the OINP nomination before January 22, 2027?
If I don’t receive an ITA, or if the nomination doesn’t come before my PGWP expires, what other options should I seriously consider? My Express Entry CRS score is quite low.
I know nobody can predict the draw for sure — I’m just trying to understand how risky my situation is and what backup options I should prepare now.
Any advice from PSWs/healthcare workers who are in a similar situation would be really appreciated. 🙏

With the new OINP changes where all current streams are being revoked on May 30, 2026, does anyone know if the old eligibility rules will also disappear?
Specifically, I am asking about the Employer Job Offer: International Student Stream and its requirement to apply within 2 years of graduation.
If the new OINP streams replace the current ones, is it possible that the 2-year graduation window will be removed?
My situation:
Occupation: NOC 33102 (Personal Support Worker)
Working in a long-term care home in Ontario
Graduated more than 2 years ago
Under the current rules, I am no longer eligible for the International Student Stream because the 2-year graduation window has passed.
I am also concerned because NOC 33102 is currently not eligible under the In-Demand Skills Stream, since that stream mainly targets TEER 4 and 5 occupations in specific sectors.
Do you think PSWs in long-term care could become eligible under the new OINP streams, possibly without the 2-year graduation restriction?
Would appreciate any insights or updates.
