I would like to help my 17 year old son, who has special needs, begin weightlifting.
Physically he is very healthy except low muscle. He is high functioning mentally.
But I know he will forget to keep his wrists straight. I've tried researching but I don't feel like I have a good answer on how to protect his wrists. Should I buy wrist wraps?
It takes a long time for him to remember things like keeping his wrists straight.
I also once tried to have a trainer at the Y walk him though equipment but the trainer went so fast that my son retained nothing. I don't think gyms are a good fit.
I'm looking to start simple home workouts and I'm out of shape too so I will workout with him but I am no expert.
Any advice you have, not just on the wrists, would be so appreciated.
