Hi there, thinking of taking the plunge, and want to build a 500point army to try out.
I get I’d need a book and dice but my friend has all of that so just a cheap entry of figures to dip my toe before being addicted.

Im drawn to the British Airborne WWII Allied Paratroopers the most(about £30). Would the 30 man kit be enough for a viable 500pt game or would I need to stretch to the British Airborne Starter Army (seen for about £55).
Are these also quite modern kits or an older kit? Is there a more modern British kit I should look at. Ideally late war European theatre.

I’ve come from Victix models before so the Germany kit is very appealing. I’ve seen for around £40 so would this offer a better start with modes with more detail?
