Any protest in patna?

Any protest going on in Patna that student can join on 21st july? I think its important that we stand up for ourselves as well as the other students and how they got treated so horribly today. Bihar's youth need to be more vocal abt their standing rn.

Student from Bihar trying to move to WB for UG: Is my preference list realistic?

I know my description will be a little bit lengthy for everyone but please I really need advice and recommendations rn.

Hi everyone,

I’m an incoming UG student from Bihar, and my goal is to secure admission in West Bengal this year to pursue a 4-Year B.Sc/B.A. in Psychology. I’ve submitted my application through the WBCAP portal with 25 preferences across CU, KNU, and BU.

My Stats:

Category: General (Unreserved)

Stream: Science (XII pass)

Merit Index: 337.5

Preference List Strategy: I’ve placed top urban colleges in Kolkata (like Women’s College Calcutta, Muralidhar, etc.) at the top, followed by other urban centers like Durgapur and Barrackpore, and kept regional colleges as my safety net.

My Questions:

Since I am applying under the General category, is this list realistic for someone with a 337.5 merit index, or am I just setting myself up for 'Not Allotted' in the first round?

I’m looking to stay in an urban area (not rural) because I’ll be new to the state and don't know the language yet. Are there any colleges on my list I should prioritize or move down based on this?

I’m worried about the 'upgrade' process. If I get a seat in a Tier 2 college, does that hurt my chances of getting an upgrade to a Tier 1 college later?

I’ve attached my preference list for reference. Any advice on how to navigate the upcoming merit lists and the upgrade rounds would be incredibly helpful. Thanks in advance!

Out-of-State candidate | 337.5 Merit

Hey everyone!

I am an out-of-state student (from Bihar, CBSE board) looking for some honest advice from CU seniors regarding undergraduate Psychology admissions through the WBCAP portal this year.

Here are my details:

* Course: BA / BSc Psychology (4-Year Undergraduate Degree)

* My Calculated Merit Index: 337.5 (Out of 500)

* Best of Four (Bo4) Percentage: 67.50% (with a strong 90 in English Core)

* Academic Status: Took a gap year last year.

I have already completed my registration on the WBCAP portal and selected 14 college choices in my preference list. Some of my notable choices include Asutosh College, Gokhale Memorial, Bethune College, Jogamaya Devi College, and Women's College Calcutta.

Given the lower CBSE percentages nationwide this year and the ongoing Re-NEET scheduling delays shifting science applicant behaviors, how realistic are my chances of securing a seat in the initial rounds?

Which colleges from my list should I closely track or expect to clear first with a 337.5 index? Any insights on the campus culture, hostel availability for out-of-state girls, or the faculty at these specific colleges would be incredibly helpful.

Thank you so much in advance!
