We upgraded our tortoise enclosure now that hes been awake more and active, and as I was moving the old tank, the locking peg came off the side access. It hit th a floor and vanished. We have hardwood flooring buts an otherwise empty room. The stand is flush to the floor. Its just...gone.
Anyway does anyone here know if they sell replacement pegs or if theres another common item I can use? Its not deep enough for a screw head. If I find a big enough nail I might be able to grind off the end? Any other ideas? This may get reused for another animal eventually and I dont want them escaping!
Y'all....THIS, is big blue, my Texas cichlid. I got him (her??) free at petco when he was an inch long because he got returned multiple times for being a serial killer. Hes calmed down in his old age.
Forgive my dirty tank glass, hes rarely out so I dared not approach.
He now lives with a pleco, jack dempsey, and for now, my 5" blue johanni and 4 of these 4" red zebras someone dropped off awhile back.
Blue normally hides all day behind that big porous rock. I have not seen him in the open in years, he normally hides everytime he senses movement outside the tank, but after adding the zebras, hes been out more of the time, keeping order in his kingdom. I just had to share this photo, its the first good one Ive gotten since I got him a couple years ago.
Yes, I know he'll outgrow his 75 gallon, Ive got 125 thats being prepped for the future, but hes content for now. He's healthy and happy (as happy as a grumpy serial killer can be) though he is still a tad bitey if you try to move his rocks!
Just had to share, I was so shocked to just see him out and chilling.
