happy i’m not ashamed of enjoying things anymore

i was embarrassed for a while about being an adult and having so many plushies or still being in fandoms that may be considered childish, but then it kind of just clicked that it doesn’t matter. most of the people i come across aren’t going to care. anyways i had to snag one of the big warrior cat plushies and i got my favorite character on the first try!! he’s super comforting i love him so much :) i might use some of the minky or embroidery floss i have to give him little paw pads

Are the zoos in mass really that bad?

I’ve seen quite a few people talking about how horrible all the zoo in Massachusetts are. Are they really that bad? I can’t tell if this is coming from people who don’t like zoos because they think they’re ALL unethical or if they’re actually just unethical. I would love to hear from the people who have been here longer than I have! I plan on working as a zoo keeper in the future and I want to make sure I’m not working for a place that keeps their animals in depressing conditions

Places I can trade plushies for other plushies?

This might not be the right place to ask but I need to know!! I have a few plushies either from shitty family members or old fandoms I’m not apart of anymore that I want to trade for other plushies. I would do this on facebook marketplace or ebay but I’m not sure if there’s anything against trading on those sites? I don’t know I’m pretty new to all of this and I thought it wouldn’t hurt to ask!

Is it normal do to root canals without a rubber dam?

I was supposed to have a root canal done today but my dentist was getting ready to do it without a rubber dental dam. I asked him if he was going to use it and he said he didn’t have to. Everything I heard about root canals was that you were NOT supposed to preform it without one and that kinda kept echoing in my head. I freaked out and had to leave without getting it done. I feel really bad for wasting their time but my gut was telling me to not go through with it. Is this normal? Can you safely do a root canal without a rubber dam? I don’t want to be that guy that goes to the internet for questions instead of listening to their doctor/dentist but aughhhhh I don’t know. I’m just very nervous when it comes to teeth

Cause for concern or just the heat+hormones?

I hate to be the guy asking for medical advice but I unfortunately have a tendency to overreact to things I think are signs of illness when my birds are just hormonal… One of my cockatiels is an egg layer and she’s started drinking a little more than she usually does (like maybe 4-6 little sips a day as opposed to 3). Her droppings are also pretty watery. They weren’t that bad before but I’ve notice it’s gotten a bit worse as she gets closer to laying her egg. Alongside all of this there’s also a big heatwave in my area and it’s been hotter than usual in my room. I know this probably seems like it would be a bit obvious but I know how weird birds are and I don’t want to ignore this if it is possibly a sign of illness. She’s on a diet of mainly pellets (I’m trying to get her to eat more vegetables so I sprinkle freeze dried veggies on her pellets when she refuses chop) and has no other symptoms. She has a check up due later this month anyways but I want to make sure it doesn’t seem like an emergency. Thank you for reading, here’s a little video of her as a thank you for listening to me ramble

There’s a part time position open at a local bird store (3-4 days a week for 8 hours) and I reallllyyyyy want to start saving up so I can take care of my birds on my own and move out eventually. The only issues is I plan on going to college in the fall. I don’t want to start work + school just to not have enough time for my birds. My birds are my priority so if I have to I’ll wait to apply/look somewhere else for a job. I just wanted to hear from some other bird owners to see what you guys have to say. Any advice is greatly appreciated but if you don’t have any that’s fine too, thank you for reading :]
