Ive been confused by this since the day ive started playing. so we are a tarnished. someone whos lost the gift of grace. but marika returns the gift of grace to us. so that we can become elden lord.

how are we still tarnished if we have grace? how did we become tarnished? why does messmer say were bereft of light when we have the gift of grace?

i know were a tarnished but we have grace dont we? i mean we see the golden erdtree which is a sign of it. we see the golden lines on our map which is a sign of it.

i just am confused on the distinction of when we are a tarnished and when we are not a tarnished and how grace works in world? godfrey had his taken and he got banished to the badlands? but returned to test us. and somehow he has grace? due to his golden line pointing at us during the cutscene?

im lost on it all as you can see. any explanation would really help

hello everyone. i have an rtx 4060. im aware thats a negative in linux. but im running bazzite and ive heard that proton layers and launch commands can help. with that being said. i got mango hud working. these are the issues im seeing in my game and im asking if you can help me understand where im going wrong

im running into an issue where my cpu and gpu both stay at around 60% and my fps stays around 55 avg. dlss doesnt seem to make a noticeable change. fsr doesnt either but looks noticeably worse.

frame gen feels awful so i avoid it.

would it be possible to get some help understanding proton and if thats my issue. i use proton experimental. i read on db that thats the most common fix. and using certain launch codes. the codes im using are as follows.

mangohud %command% gamemoderun VKD3D_CONFIG=no_upload_hvv %command%

it seems to get my mango hud to work where i can monitor everything. smooth sailing. but fps is around 55 all the time and cpu is 60% and gpu is also the same.

i have an intel i7-9700k rtx 4060 and 32gb of ddr4 3200mhz ram. id love to figure out what im doing wrong. i am very uneducated so feel free to ask or make fun of me

now im a novice by every step of the imagination. ive only had the os installed for 2 days. and through the testing ive done. im on average 28% lower fps than on windows with my last install. same settings across titles. same hardware.

now like i said. im a novice. im a big dummy. id love to not be a big dummy and im assuming this is mainly my fault. i have an intel i7-9700k and an rtx 4060. ive heard nvidia gpus are poopoo. but is it that bad? would it be better to trade for an amd gpu. if so which is a good equivalent. is there any issue with os im missing. am i doing anything wrong. thank you again
