Found some of my father’s P-RADE pins.
He was the Class of 1950.
After 1961 I guess life changed.

Who delivered phonebooks to make extra money.
I did it for several weeks. First I followed all the rules. By the end I just dumped one on every porch, if someone wanted more than one they got it.
My mom even drove my car sometimes to speed up the process so I could do three routes in a day and earn more.
Thanks mom.
I remember one time doing something that upset my parents (I was 5 or 6) and being told to go to my room and go to bed. It was late afternoon, my mom came upstairs and supervised me putting on my pj’s and getting in bed.
When I enquired about dinner, I was told no dinner for you.
I immediately started to cry, I thought for sure I was going to starve, and said so through my tears.
“Get in bed, and think about what you did. No books, no music, nothing.”
Oh the trauma.
About 3 hours later I was called downstairs to “discuss” my behavior, when that was over, mom brought out a plate of food. I ate and went to bed early.
I never did that again, whatever it was.
Does anyone remember the add on FM tuner. You mounted it to the dashboard or under it. It was wired into the AM (only) radio. You had to find a dead spot on the AM radio band to channel the music through to the car monaural speaker.
We lived overseas and mom used these to keep in touch with family.
I used them for penpal letters as well.
Just discovered Barney Miller streams on Sony One Comedy TV.
What a great day.
The electric base in the opening.
Seeing the Twin Towers in the skyline was a sad surprise.
