Olivia invited Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O and Nick Zinner to perform at Daisy Chain, and considering that they’re huge inspirations for Daisy Spencer, Olivia’s guitarist, this feels like such a full-circle moment.
Daisy has talked about how much she looks up to Yeah Yeah Yeahs, she teared up after meeting Karen O at a music festival when she was 20 years old, so the fact that Olivia brought them onto a festival that she’s putting together… like, imagine being Daisy and suddenly getting to share a festival lineup with one of your biggest musical heroes?? 😭
And I love that this isn’t just a random “big name” booking either. Yeah Yeah Yeahs are such a perfect fit for what Daisy Chain is trying to be — women in rock, alternative music, guitar-driven performances, all of that.
It honestly makes me wonder if Olivia knew how meaningful this would be for Daisy when she invited them. Because if she did… that is SUCH a thoughtful thing to do for your guitarist 🥹
