Nations Cup setback for Spain
The wait for the elusive solid Spanish performance on both sides of the ball goes on.

The wait for the elusive solid Spanish performance on both sides of the ball goes on.
I think Saints have never missed the playoffs in SuperLeague so after this week, what do people think. Are Leigh going to overtake them or can Saints hang on?
Spain put in a solid performance against France to give hope before a final group stage game versus Fiji.
For those who don't speak Spanish, Spain player Mateo Aragón accused of racism by French media, FER have come out strongly refute that . Kind of overshadowing a good game.
With just over a year to go to Australia, Spanish Head Coach Pablo Bourza insists in press conference before Canada that there's still a chance for players to grab a ticket to Australia.
Hello again, back with more from Spain. We were able to sit down (well stand up at the back of the room actually) with FER Vice President Gabriel Sáez on professionalising Spanish Rugby, being a "leaping giant" and Spain's 2035 RWC bid.
Now let us never speak of this game again.
Edit: Yes I know it's Junior World Championship, what was wrong with Under 20's name?
Helps if I post the correct link doesn't it? Spain's Under 20's coach held a brief online press conference before we kick off today.
More interest than previously in terms of attendance from press which is heartening.
Before she becomes a Barbarian, Spanish international 'Bimba' talks about playing in the PWR "the best league in the world", the World Cup and why Spain should be allowed to compete for Women's Six Nations entry.
Data retrieval meant I could bring this interview from British Sevens International Ethan Waddleton to see if players would be interested in coming over. RL Question and section is from 22:30
The TLDR is 380,000 across whole broadcast and peak of over 500,000. Shows the huge importance of Rugby League getting a weekly regular fixed (so same time to build up audience) slot to show the game. Any serious TV deal will need to include that.
Not a red button, not horrible oversized stadiums. But that. It's why I am so pleased we have Wakey now because stadium is almost perfect size to make the game look good.
So half way home more or less and started to think who is under the most pressure as a team to win this year. For me, it's Leeds.
Lots of top players going, feels like end of cycle and a few years rebuild needed after this year. So Leeds for me but interested what others think.
After 80 minutes , penalty on half way and VRAC kick it to send cheesemen everywhere.
I find it baffling that clubs and a sport complaining about a lack of players are not here in Spain at the Sevens , the game that gave Super League Lachie Miller.
So much of the game (chewing up metres , offloads and one on one collisions) would be transferable and the South Africa Vs Argentina game has probably half a dozen that would be worth kidnapping.
In honour of the news that Wakey's new NRL pensioner RTS is croaked already. It must be because I am not from the heartlands but when journalist say X pensioner (Cas, Wakey) is a huge name that will bring eyeballs I think they are mad.
I know SL is not going to be up there with NRL quality but nothing stopping us (except leadership) from making the league a place for young hungry British and French players instead of a pension top up
A very wet el Central as Liceo Frances beat Cisneros (who played last weeks cup final) and then there were four. Liceo first season back in top flight, Alcobendas who won cup, Burgos and VRAC .
A penalty in the last minutes to steal the game from Cisneros in the Copa Del Rey de Rugby Final . Probably the best game you could hope to watch.
Just the two hours before kick off and the Cisneros blue wall is out before playing Alcobendas.
This week it's Spanish cup final weekend. Last year we had over 18,000 on Valladolid and this week its a Mardi derby in the 15,000 capacity stadium of Leganés. So here's a shameless plug for one of our biggest Rugby days of the year and anyone looking for an excuse to abandon their responsibilities this weekend
UPDATE: Ok this got a lot more popular than I expected so here is the link in case anyone here is tempted last minute 15€ . Bring your wife / husband, mistress , whomever.
