I'm a 30-year-old Somali woman who has spent a lot of time focused on personal growth. This year I've had a couple of strong potentials for marriage, but I've noticed a pattern whenever I share my future goals to gauge compatibility, the guy either pulls away or tries to convince me to change my mind. I want a deeply fulfilling marriage first. I've thought about having children in my mid-thirties, but I also hold that loosely kids aren't always granted anyways. and I wouldn't want them to be the foundation of a marriage. I want a partner to be enough for them and not pressure me into having kids. I grow up in the states a different mindset, I'm not willing to compromise on that. Has anyone else navigated this? How do you find someone who's aligned without scaring them off just for being honest?
