I have always bitten my nails, started biting the skin around a little bit later. I have always hated my hands and hid them. I don't have clear pics of my starting point so I had to take a screenshot from a video friends took of me.

Started competing in bodybuilding shows where it's custom to have nail extensions. That was the moment I decided to take care of my hands. I realized I could have beautiful hands. Stopped biting anything for 2 months now. My extensions fell off and the nails under it are now paper thin but I really want to continue.

I'm bad at applying nail polish but until my nail beds recover (if they ever do) Ill try to improve.

Thanks for this reddit. Ive been lurking for a while and it's been such a huge help.

Choreographed posing time

Hi girls

In my local show we will have 30 seconds to play a music of our choice and perform our posing routine the way we like. Even double biceps are allowed.

I'm curious, if you could choose your T walk/posing routine song, what would it be ? What kind of pose would you choose to display ? What vibe would you be looking for? Epic, sexy, fierce, soft, bubbly..?

I personally think I'll go with Katy Perry's Dark Horse and a sultry, strong vibe.

Just wanted to know for fun what everyone would choose.

Self tan under spray tan, bad idea ?

Hi

Im going to have a spray tan for a show very soon, but my real skin is pasty white, and I need a decent tanned look for the show.

Since there are skin cancer cases in my family suntanning or tanning beds are out of the equation.

I was thinking of layering two applications of St Tropez ultra dark before getting the spray tan but I wonder if that would t make the spray tan uneven or peeling right away. Have you already done that ?

I only need a good looking tan for a day.

Thank you

EDIT: I contacted my show's tan provider. She said she recommends to put Lycon Bronze as a layer base once before getting the spray tan, it's the less splotchy tan out of the only 3 self tans allowed by my show.

Coach raising calories 6 weeks out ?

Hi everyone

I'm on a long prep since February (February-April was closer to body recomp than a real cut averaging 300g/week).

I lost 8.5kg in total and am currently losing 600-750g a week but still have a good layer of fat below my glutes.

I have 3 shows : 4 weeks out from JBBF beginner show in leggings, 6 weeks out from local bikini show (my main goal since that'll be my most revealing costume), and 9 weeks out from regional IFBB fit model show (monokini and dress).

My coach wants to raise my daily calories by 150 calories (carbs mainly) because he says that at this speed, by the date of the first show I'll have lost muscle and by the date of the last show I'll be stringy. I have never heard of athletes raising calories this close to competition. He's very against occasional refeeds and prefers to raise daily calories.

It's my first time competing, have you experienced it ? Was it beneficial for you ? I have no craving problem and my perfs are stable so to be honest I don't feel it very well. I'm afraid I'll never peak.

Thank you
