Who's getting Book 7? (SPOILERS/LEAK TALK)

So... Chronicles of the Avatar Book 7. As we all know, each Avatar is given a Duology 1 and 2 for Kyoshi, 3 and 4 for Yangchen, 5 and 6 for Roku, and with this new book, comes the start of a new Avatar's story, but the question is, WHO? Everyone, including myself, were pretty certain for the most part that it would be Kuruk, since he's the last of the four named Avatars from the original show. But now with the rumors about him potentially getting a series (LIKE WHAT???) this leaves the lead of Book 7 up for debate. So I've compiled a list of all the candidates, and put them in order of likelihood:

Kuruk: Still the mostly likely candidate. I know a lot of people think that this new leaked series is based off of him, because of Copyrights, but I'm not fully convinced yet. It's a good chance, but I still think that the series could easily still just be a brand new Avatar, taking place during a long time ago during an Ice Age. Not sure honestly, but I'd prefer him to just have a book.

Sonam: Aside from Kuruk, probably the most likely, if not, the most wanted through my research on this site. Ever since the movie, I've wanted to see so much more of Sonam, easily the strongest Air Avatar of all time, and I want to see SO much more of her history, her origin, training, upbringing, etc., and I think a book would be best.

Avatar #2: As cool as getting a book about the First Avatar would be cool, but I honestly would be more thrilled to learn about the SECOND Avatar. Just learning about what their life must've been like. They honestly have to have done SO much, from cementing the Avatar as a universal concept, to understanding/finding their powers, to even learning they're the new Avatar in the first place, not to mention learning about how Wan exactly died in the first place.

Wan: Getting more lore on the first Avatar would be awesome, and understanding what happened during his life, and his attempt to work with Rava and bring peace.

Xian: The other Avatar introduced in the movie, not as wanted as Sonam, but still up there. He is a such a different Avatar from every one we've seen, and I think giving him more lore and backstory would be pretty cool.

Szeto: I mean, there isn't much to say here. He's name dropped in almost every COTA book we have so far, with more and more lore and personality getting revealed. He's like Xian, being notably different, less of a fighter, and more of a diplomat, so seeing more of his story would be cool, but unlike Xian, we know a lot more about his life, and tbh it's kinda boring. I'm sure he has some stories, just not a whole lot as just an Advisor/Diplomat. In my opinion, it would be MUCH better to give us an in universe book, detailing the Fire Nation and the rest of the world during his Era, that's actually written BY him. It would fit his character, and be a cool piece of literature that's different from everything else.

Named Avatars: The three named Avatars from the books (Salai, Gun, and Zalir) have the smallest chances to get books, but it would probably be more likely then just making a new Avatar somewhere random in the order. In my opinion, most likely is Salai, then Zalir, then Gun.

Panning the camera Up and Down with button input for 2.5 D game?

You know how in some Metoidvanias you can pan cameras up an down to view above an below the normal perspective of the player? Usually they need to use W and S keys, and won't move the player, and when they let go of the button, the camera moves back.

I'm trying to see how I can go about doing that in UE5 for a 2.5D game I'm developing, with a side scrolling camera. An not just for it to snap up, but gently move up and down and back. Does anyone have any pointers on how to accomplish this?

Seven Havens theory: Lost Avatars

This is a stupid theory but I wanted to say it anyways because it's something interesting I caught in the trailer.

What if Korra wasn't actually the previous Avatar, but we've already gone through a whole other cycle of Avatars, lost in time and history?

My literal ONLY source to back this up is that Jae, in the trailer, said that their 'ancestors' didn't protect themselves, leading to what happened. How can they have ancestors if, by logic, Jae himself was alive for Korra's era? Pavi's like 9 or something, they shouldn't necessarily have 'ancestors' if most likely, even some of Korra's friends and allies are probably still alive.

My only other idea for how this makes sense if something happened to Korra/the Avatar spirit that prolonged it's return. Maybe Korra was still alive in some way and only died recently, even though everyone thought she was dead. Idk, just thought it was an interesting idea. Please don't roast me TOO hard.

Theory: How many Avatars have there been?

This might be less of a theory, and more of a way to get the writers out of a potential corner with the lore, but I think it's a neat thing to talk about. Sorry in advance for the length.

So to anyone who doesn't know, the 'Avatar Studios' website has a timeline page, depicting the events in both chronological order and release order of the series, containing everything from the shows, books, comics, and even online mini-series (They haven't updated it in like a year, but whatever). On the Chronological Timeline, it goes from Wan to Aang, with each Avatar's being divided into their 'Eras'. Not only is this a really cool place to get the canon order of information, it also shares brand new canon info that we've never heard before. What it says between the eras of Wan and Yangchen is this:

More than 90 Avatars lived between the eras of Wan and Yangchen | They upheld the cycle of water, earth, fire and air to bring balance to the world. | Thousands of stories from this time are yet to be told.

https://www.avatarstudiosofficial.com/timeline/

Before getting to into this, focusing on the retcons of the series, many characters have described there being hundreds of Avatars in the original series, but LoK basically throws this out the window by introducing the time limit of 10,000 years. I think what we need to acknowledge as fans of the show, is that the idea of there being hundreds of avatars was an idea and concept scrapped, or at least recontextualized. Okay so now moving.

So starting out, focus on the first line. Retcon aside, I think it's interesting that it highlighted specifically 'over 90'. It would be more dramatic and in line with the series if it said 'over 100 avatars', but what this says seems to point at there being a decided, de-facto number of avatars that Avatar Studios settled on, specifically over 90.

So aside from the 7 avatars we know of the most of that the series and books tackle (Wan & Yangchen to Korra), there were over 90 Avatars. If it was more that 99 then it would say over 100 and move on, so I believe that there are 91-99 avatars in this 'lost era'. Actually putting in the math, if we're sticking to that range, and following the element's order to abide to, starting with the Air (the 'Second Avatar' after Wan) and ending with Fire (Szeto, The Fire Avatar before Yangchen) who would end that 'lost era', while still being in that 91-99 range, than there could only be 92 or 96 avatars with untold stories. And I think I might know which one it is.

I think it would make more sense moving forward with the new series 'Seven Havens', is if there were 92 avatars in the eras between Wan and Yangchen. That 92, plus the seven we've been learning about in the main stories, makes 99 Avatars to have existed, making Avatar Pavi the 100th.

This could potentially have some big consequences or meanings in the story, or maybe it's more of a ceremonial thing that could happen. And thinking about it marketing wise, having a 100th Avatar in this new story would be an interesting strategy. Truth be told, I don't know if this will be important, or if I'm right at al. But it kind of feels like this will be an interesting focus point that Avatar Studios could be directing us to.

Lastly, I wanted to talk about one more issue, that being ages. is there were 99 avatars between Wan becoming the first avatar at around the age of 20, and Korra sealing Vattu at the age of around 18, then that means that each avatar would have lived to be around 100 if it was equal time. Thing is, we already know that this can easily altered and adjusted. Sure, Kuruk lived to be just around 30, and some avatars probably followed that same fate, but we've been shown that some people can live for a very long time, like Kyoshi who lived to be over 200, or were put in situations where the avatar can technically still exist, but no new avatars are born, like Aang was with the iceberg. I'm not saying it's perfect, but if there were over 90 avatars with untold stories, it definitely stands to reason that at least a few of them have found ways to live hundreds of years. It's not perfect, but it's possible.

So 92 unknown avatars. Or at least, 88 unnamed, and then Szeto, Salai, Gun, and Zalir.
