I’m finally out of a terrible slump

Could not fathom going a single day without gambling. Two years straight of losing hundreds a day.

Lost nearly six digits, now after nearly two months, I’ve been lucky enough to not even have the urge cross my mind. I have a positive bank account balance once again, and I’m actually somewhat hopeful toward my future.

Finally applied after much debate

Turning 23 soon, wanted some way to switch careers (something more academic) without having to leave home or lose my current job.

Open uni seemed like the perfect medium, excited to start my degree in October. Anyone else do their degrees in early 20s?

Did everything, Gamban, Gamstop, GA meetings, etc. Doesn’t matter how long I’ve stopped or the restrictions I’ve imposed, I always find a way to get back in and gamble. It’s so hard.

I was doing well, actually saving money. Got to £15k and did that terrible gambling rationalisation to justify £10k as a floor, I went to 30k and obviously it wasn’t enough and kept going until I was back at £0.

It’s so pathetic, I knew what would happen yet I acted anyway. No amount is ever enough, so why do I do it?
