Anyone else miss hearing these /songs in the radio (FM). Back in the day, Philly radio would play these 2 all the time. I remember YL being that special song since it was a B-side. Heading in the radio was amazing because the song was incredible. Something about those rare songs heard so often while driving. Sure some stations may play them and we can queue them up whenever. Simpler times that’s all.
One of my absolute favorite tapes. I downloaded the mastered copy not too long ago. I also found this sleeve that I printed decades ago. Pretty much THE show of all shows. Black is to die for. Just wanted to share this awesome sleeve :)
Busted out my bedhead tips from FLACs I downloaded like 20 years ago. Turned out there’s glitch’s and digital fuzz in a lot of Vol 2. I even downloaded an mp3 source today to give a comparison. Same deal! Weird. So I hit up the archive and compiled the individual tracks and they sound great. So weird. I’ve always loved this 3 CD comp. I’m listening on a Hi rez DAP so maybe that’s why I’m hearing the fuzz. Anyways, it’s been fun upgrading this essential comp!
Just threw this one on. Back when RA had it all. Addiction, great song writing, a love affair with NYC. He was firing off one album for stores and 2 that were found online. This is a great “album” recorded in 2000. I miss being a new fan in rhe early 2000s when I discovered something special and exhilarating.
I’ve been on a 1969 binge and those Lovelights are wild, nasty, humorous, and fun. I looked up the OG lyrics and didn’t see back box nitties that’s a wild lyric that only Pigpen can deliver. WAIT A MINUTE
