Looking for Mandarin Song Recommendations

Looking to build my playlist (which mostly consist of Japanese and English Songs) with more Mandarin Songs as I pretty much lost touch when it comes to keeping up with them.

Basically any beautiful Mandarin pop songs that are pleasing and smooth to the ears:

I only have four mandarin Songs now in my playlist:

  1. 愛你 - 陳芳語
  2. 明天見 - 王心凌
  3. 小幸運 - 田馥甄
  4. 我們的冒險 - 曹寅

Don't really mind the age of the song itself (whether old or just released recently).

Don't hold back, just give me as many as you are happy to share. I will take pleasure in filtering and screening through them.

Also, I only listen from YouTube, so I would want the said songs to be available through the singer / artist official YouTube channel and not from unofficial or unauthorized sources. If you can share your own YouTube playlist from such sources that is even better.

In other words, share the best songs that make you proud to be Chinese! I am Chinese myself, but I am more comfortable with English when it comes to reading and writing (gotten rusty from not doing them regularly). My Chinese speaking and listening are okay, though.

Thank you in advance.

Returning player; looking for some recommendations on "why can't you just die!" creatures

By that I mean creatures that are sticky, stubborn, and hard to be knockout because they have high sustainability power.

  1. Does not have to be (it can) apexes
  2. Preferably comes with a counter hit (deal damage back when hit)
  3. Have at least two moves that heal or restore HP preferably (any other things that make it hard to take down, such as dodge, high armor, shield, devour / life steal attack moves that recover HP in between turns is a plus)
  4. Does not have to be at high tier list (S or A) or even meta creatures at all
  5. Does not have to be (it can) the resilient class

In other words, the kind of creature that can potentially sweep the opponent's whole team, outlast them, and wear them out in a battle of attrition (especially after they reach a certain level with some boosts on them) if they do not have the answer for it (in the form of glass cannons that can one shot them).

One good example is Diloracheirus (I have one that is Level 30, boosted, and stage 2 enhanced, sometimes I can just open with this creature and sweep the opponent's whole team when they do not have the answer for it).

  1. Not an apex, in fact, its apex does not fit the playstyle that I am aiming for, more like strategic swap-in disruptor.
  2. Comes with a counter hit
  3. Two healing moves
  4. Not even a meta creature at all
  5. Pure cunning class without resilient

Another example is Concatosaurus. Also better than its apex counterpart. And tick every box too.

Permission from fan art artist and how that relate to copyright infringement from the original creator

I understand that a fan art (if created without permission or license from the rightsholder) is still a violation of copyright infringement under derivative work.

So, even if I ask permission from a fan art author on DeviantArt and that permission is granted by the said author, I am still indirectly violating copyright infringement right, since both the author and myself do not have permission from the original creators or rightsholders to create or use the said copyrighted character in the first place?

Question for someone from the U.S.

How common are the case in the U.S. where library and rental shops hold the stock of Mill Creek DVD version of Ultraman Mebius? I am still on the hunt for this and I know someone recently purchased a library copy of it for 9.99 USD off Amazon. I am hoping that I will come across such copies again for very cheap price, as private collectors are unlikely to let it go and even if they do the price is going to be super sky high (like the 1,999 USD one).

What are some of the reasons that library and rental shops would want to let it go in the first place? Obviously I don't think it is because it experienced playback issues due to high wear and tear by different customers, otherwise it would not be right or ethical to get rid of a defected or problematic product by selling it to others.

Questions about piracy and copyright infringment

Are the two phrases the same thing? If not, what is the distinction?

The specific context I want to dig deeper is regarding YouTube. On YouTube there are a lot of copyrighted movies and series (even music and songs) being uploaded by random users without the license or permission from the original creators.

My questions are:

  1. Do the uploaders commit piracy or copyright infringement in this case?
  2. What is your perspective on watching this kind of content on YouTube?

For:

- The weight of the legal responsibility falls on the uploader, not the viewers. In addition, it is also the duty of both the platform (YouTube in this case) and the original creator or copyright holders to take down any content that infringes copyright on the platform, of which the platform itself (YouTube) is a legit site, not a pirated one.

Against:

- Even though the viewers are not the ones committing copyright infringement by uploading the content, knowingly watching, and benefiting from such contents that otherwise require money to access still place some moral responsibility on them as participants in that infringement. As for the takedown of the contents by either the platform or the original creator, the absence or lack of enforcement does not erase the moral guilt of the viewers if they knowingly watch them. Even though YouTube itself is a legit platform, something uploaded illegally on it is still illegal, regardless of the platform itself being legit.

A rough analogy would be like someone knowingly buys stolen goods, they are not the thief, but they are still participating in something wrongful.

As another example outside of YouTube, I used to download some apps from Google Play Store that allow me to watch and stream movies and series for free by watching ads. My line of thoughts at that point is: if certain apps are even available to be downloaded from Google Play Store in the first place, then they must have passed the initial evaluation / filtering / screening by Google and certified to be legit before they are being released to the public. In other words, any apps that made it to the play store are clean. It seems like my assumption is wrong?

Purchase and usage of regional restriction DVDs (Looking for Christians' perspective only)

There is one TV Show I am keen to purchase online. I see in the back cover the following lines:

NOT FOR SALE OUTSIDE HK & MACAU.

Licensed only for the use in Hong Kong Special Administration Region and Macau.

So from a Christian's perspective who are seeking to hold a clear conscience and integrity before God, I should not purchase this DVD and watch it if I am physically living outside of Hong Kong and Macau, right? In other words, I should honor and respect the regional restriction.

The verses I have in mind are:

^(5) Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. - Romans 13:5

In other words, I am not talking about how likely I am to get into trouble or get caught and be prosecuted, but from the angle of conscience and integrity.

If one is to say that everyone does it, then the verse for that:

^(2) Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. - Romans 12:2

For context, there is no official licensed distributor for home media DVDs for the said title where I am from.
