A few boxes later the second go went fantastic. Special thanks to the Baldin arms box and the obscene amount of orbital hinges it comes with. Don’t mind the face. (Wip 🙏🏼💦) and all the parts are in the last pic. All stock parts. No modifications made or holes added. Although a few custom parts could have been better, I wanted to see if I could make it work without. It was a fun puzzle and the most fun I’ve had building in a while, and I love my gunpla.

Overall I’m thrilled with how this build went. The arms and legs move with the body while posing. It’s a little finicky but I’m happy with how it’s coming along. Plan on painting and adding some more comedic mods. But I think I’m satisfied with the base structure.

So I’ve looked at these kits for a while, I didn’t think much of them and thought they were just cute cheap kits. Other day I took the kids out to pick out some models, and Belvaria looks neat and just came in so I said “why not” and grabbed an options bag as well. When building it finally clicked…. You can just, do anything you want with these. Ran back out a couple days later and grabbed an extended armament vehicle and some more options and just had a good time trying to make the exo frame kit I’ve wished existed for years now.

Anyways wip, I’m not 100% on the build yet so I didn’t go into detail and there’s some custom parts I may scratch build. Tons of fun though and this is a fun rabbit hole I’ve tripped into.

I don’t think the pics and poses online do this guy justice. This was an impulse buy at a good price and kind of a holdover waiting to get my next kit. So I didn’t jump in with high expectations. Still have some cleanup to do and then decals but I just finished the build and was just having a great time posing him. His colors are pretty striking in person and the design seems fairly simple but the layering and curves are really nice and easy to miss. Any kits you were surprised by?

I’ve had this kit kicking around forever and was the first thing I built jumping back into the hobby. Just been having fun messing around and trying different techniques and mediums from other hobbies I’ve picked up over the years.

Based with acrylics and built up layers of colored pencils (prismacolor softcore, some water color pencils as well) with mr super clear to lock in textures to highlight on top of and continue to build, sort of like working with layers in photoshop. Also various dustings with non oil based pastels. Plus various microns and pens.

I don’t know if I’m done or fully satisfied but I wanted to share because it’s been fun. Ives used brushes to blend and clean pencil lines, sandpaper to give texture and sponges ect. It’s a whole hodgepodge. Love to hear your thoughts or other things you guys have tried.
