Help with frugal beautification to help neighbors sell house.

We bought our house three years ago, and hidden problems have drained our budget ever since. Repairs left nothing for landscaping beyond cutting back weeds, so we’ve become “those” neighbors—but fortunately we’re not the only ones on the block (not that it's something to be proud of).

Our neighbors across the street are trying to sell their house, and I've become more aware of our beautification shortcomings. They've always been great to us, and I don't want our awful landscaping to hurt their chances of selling.

I'm looking for easy suggestions on a TIGHT budget. It's an ugly red ranch-style house (the inside looked so beautiful, which covered SO many problems), north-facing, with two square-cut scraggly bushes framing a centered front door.

What can I do on a budget to make the place look better and help my neighbor sell their house?

This is one of my favorites! My husband had to send some money to an employee, so he let me design the envelope!
