This board is one of the Crown Jewels of my personal keyboard collection. This is a Focus FK-555 with Alps SKCM Blue from 1987. This board is significant because it was the predecessor to the Northgate Omnikey line of keyboards which began production in 1988 and are my favorite vintage boards to collect. This board was in rough shape when I got it and it underwent a full restoration and rebuild from the ground up. The board originally came with pad print keycaps which were in rough shape. The keycaps were swapped to a New Old Stock Focus Double Shot ABS Keycap set from an FK-2001. The original PCB was replaced with an Alec Tardy Omnial solder PCB which gives the board modern features like VIAL customization and USB support. The top and bottom cases were fully restored and the steel mounting plate was refinished. There is so much work in this board but the end result is now my favorite board in my personal collection.

Introducing the holy grail of Northgate Omnikeys. This is an Avant Stellar Omnikey that I fully rebuilt and restored for a client commission. This board was one of the last Northgate Omnikey models made and is one of the rarest. There is so much work in this keyboard to make it truly one of a kind. The simplified alps were replaced with Alps SKCM White “Pine” clicky switches. The Steel plate was cut and modified by Alec Tardy and the original PCB was replaced with Alec’s Omnial. The original pad print keycaps were replaced with Tai Hao White on Black. There are so many hours and so much work in this board but the end result is worth it. I cannot wait to send this board to its new home.
