Anyone else (pleasantly) surprised that Bright Eyes is touring again?

I’m so shocked that there’s a tour about to happen. Ever since Bright Eyes started again I’ve been dreading the day it enters another dormant stage.

I was expecting a break or gap and then another solo record - but obviously not a fortune teller.

I love his solo stuff - mainly the mystic valley band - but am very curious if Bright Eyes is going to be this active in this way for the future.

It doesn’t seem like they’re slowing down.

If we hear a Down in the Weeds song at this upcoming tour, it will be the same gap of time as it was hearing a I’m Wide Awake song during the 2011 tour.

I know I posted this yesterday too early - but no statement from the band is bumming me out.

I know there’s probably such legal and logistical hurdles

But it just feels so odd to have radio silence after that
