The Mont apt- Lease

Hey everyone! I live in the Mont apartment on Montopolis Drive. My lease renewal expire on May 26th. They emailed me stating it needs atleast 60 days in advance if I’m going to terminate the lease.

I’m wondering if anyone who has lived here and terminated the lease after that 60 day period or anyone who knows about this if there is any penalty fee or my rent rate going to the original rate for the next 2 months (for ex. In my case I’m paying $1000 rent for original $1300 rate). Just wondering if it’s okay to actually take some time in finding a good apartment because I don’t want to live here anymore.

Thank you!

Austin apartment search 2026

Hey everyone! I’m looking for an apartment with a female roommate who is also interested to split an apartment in South Congress, Central Austin, South Lamar, or Mueller.

Budget is around $1100 max (excluding utilities is okay too)

Move in: Mid-July

About me: Nurse, don’t smoke, clean, respectful, and fairly quiet during work days (with 12hr shifts)

Would love to explore some new places together!
