EP study

So after my first visit with a very good EP in my city they want to do an EP study and do an ablation based off cardia mobile and Apple Watch catching these.

For 10 years I was told it was just panic attacks and for 10 years no one listened to me. One visit and this guy seems pretty confident what’s been going on. Is an EP study something to be scared of?

I’ve broken my femur and had some nasty surgeries in my day. But my mother is worried about having anything done to my heart at 30 years old.

If it could take away the episodes and never take medication I’d be very happy but worried about the risks of it

Is Qaly accurate

This is what the app said. I’ve had these episodes before and it says sinus tach. My cardiologist said it’s sinus tach. But now this. I’m going to an EP soon but how accurate is this app and watch for this. I try to catch it. Wake up with a pounding heart. Then it slowly goes back down in 1-5 minutes
Only is high for 1-2 minutes til I’m up

Part 2. Qaly said SVT after reviewed but I’m not convinced. Still scary

Posted before. Have had 5 or so of these during nighttime ( only ) I do have OSA and my episodes all happened without a CPAP. I fell asleep without mask on. It wakes me up so can’t tell how it starts. I tried a vagus maneuver where I bare down idk if it did much. But it tapered down in the same minute. So not even a full 60 seconds of a sustained HR
170-171-166-160 then dropped.

Still scary. I have an EP appointment in a month because my cardiologist said I was “normal, and healthy, but to ease your mind”

When I exercise hard my Apple Watch looks about the same as this tracing. I’ve had two formal ekgs with short PR but everything else normal

What to do

I’ve had about 5-6 of these in the last 8 months.

Same thing. I wake up from sleep. Heart rate 150/160 freaks me out, then slowly will come down.

I’ve done 3 holter tests, stress test, etc. doing another echo soon.

I’m 29 M. This never happens during the day.
On a holter I had an episode but only went to 140 BPM but same feeling. They said normal sinus. I had 160 BPM and it was so scary I called 911
They get there and do ekg and it drops back down. Said could have been SVT but they don’t know.
Show the Apple Watch recording to cardio and they weren’t concerned.

Come tonight same thing. Got the watch on and it said poor reading but QALY was able to say SVT after someone read it, but I’m not super convinced.

I flipped upside down while barring down and did breath work and it seemed to drop it a little. But like always after 20’or so minutes awake it chills out.

Could they be missing something? I know some people with SVT say it happens at random. But these only happen at night within the first 1-2 hours of falling asleep.

Thanks so much.

Anyone have this?

I have left sided chest pain that feels like burning and sometimes squeezing. Worse when laying. It sometimes also just all day. I’ve been to ER 3 times. All clear. And had two heart work ups.

I have a PPI I plan to take again after another h pylori test. I have upper GI planned. I do have GERD but hate this feeling and gives me horrible anxiety because it’s more left than center? Anyone else have this?

Anyone get scared awake?

I found out I have sleep apnea. I sleep horrible. Wake up tired and a headache. But sometimes I’ll get scared awake with a very fast heart rate. I did a holter and they said it was normal sinus nothing scary. But it’s like a full out panic attack. Happens a few times a night

I need advice

I’m 29 yo (m) and have had two of these very scary episodes during sleep. First was in May.
1:45am woke out of my sleep with my chest pounding so hard. Very scared. Shook my wife awake. By the time I could grab my watch it slowed down.

Fast forward. Tonight it was almost the exact same time 1:30am. Pounding awake. Grabbed and woke her up and we called 911. This time it lasted about 15 minutes. I got an Apple Watch and then Kardia reading. Ambulance came and almost gave me a medication, when they strapped me down my HR dropped to 110 then 80. They said it stopped. They looked at both consumer readings and said it could be SVT

It was terrifying. I’m afraid to sleep. This is now the second time this high. And the 4th I’m been woken up with this pounding HR.

I have had many heart tests done before and always come back normal. I was just wearing a 14 day monitor and sent it back a few days ago.. and missed this.

Is this dangerous? It feels terrifying and like I’m going to die when it happens

Scared to try propranolol

I have severe health anxiety and what I think is agrophobia

I will be in an open space and feel weak, like ill faint, HR jumps, all that. It sucks. It makes me not want to do anything.

I take lorazepam as needed. For years it helps stop bad panic attacks. I recently lost my father and alot of other bad stuff and will get this sinking feeling then an adrenaline dump almost daily.

I’m not taking lorazepam more than 3-4 times a month. I’m scared of anything entering my body. I always fear the worst.

I finnsly let them give me contrast during a scan. And it gave me a panic attack when I felt it.

I’ve had 3-4 heart workups. Brain work up. All normal. I constantly worry about my heart and health.

I’ve heard wonders propranaol works for people. But also read people getting bad side effects. Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Concerning ekg

I have a cardiologist follow up tomorrow and gathering some documents and was downloading ekgs. During a recent ER visit I got this.

First report said pas heart attack and atrial flutter, then after the doctor confirmed it all the langue changed.

Was the first one just the machine reading something wrong.

Should I bring both to my appointment ?

There IS hope

Here’s two weeks of a strict diet.

Dropped to my lowest in years. Get a CGM and track everything you eat.

My diet is

4-5 eggs and whole avacado at breakfast

Snacks of nuts, cheese, and homemade chips

Lunch is the same everyday
Grilled chicken baked potato, and asparagus

Dinner is
Chicken of some sort and a leafy green, and a sweet Potato or rice

ALWAYS before bed whole fat Greek yogurt and pumpkin seeds to stabilize overnight

I’ve dropped from 288 in January to 253 now.

29 YO chest pain

Hello, I’m 29 YO man, I’ve been having chest pain on and off for years now. I get dizzy, I get weird feelings. Chest burning and pressure in left side. I’ve been to the ER 5-6 times in the last two years alone.

Every test is normal.
-echo, 2 times now. Normal
-countless normal ekgs
-normal stress test x2
-normal holters and telemetry
-normal glycemic control
-HS CRP 1.1
- troponin is normal (7)
-x rays and scans all good
-every blood test, normal
-sedimentation rate, clotting, all good.
Leg Doppler a few months ago. Normal
MRI of abdomen for kidney stone check and heart was good

I’ve lost 40 pounds so far. I do have very mild sleep apnea I just found out about.

Triglycerides 77

I do have GAD ( generalized anecity disorder ) and panic disorder.

My dad had CAD died at 81 due to a car wreck

I get flutters and that’s about it. Pain normally gets better when I work out or move. Worse when sitting and after eating. I do have GERD.

I am advocating for my health because me and my wife want kids. I want to be around a long time.

Is there anything else I can do? Went to different ERs had two cardiologists do workuos many times

Only scan I haven’t done is a calcium scan, they said I’m to young and everything else is normal. We can do it when you’re a little older.

I know anxiety and health anxiety doesn’t help.

My dad’s family all has clogged arteries, but also all were 350+ pounds for most their lives. All lived 85+ and some still alive.

Sorry for the long post. I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything

Exercising about 150 minutes a week of walking and lifting and determined to lose the next 40 pounds ( 250 now 6’ tall)

Constantly worried anytime my heart skips or races and want to be my best self for my family

Thank you so so much for any advice

What to do next

I’ve been having weird anxiety and feel like energy crashes.
I have an A1c of 5
Fasting sugar between 84-93

Insulin 44..

I had insulin tested 2 years ago and it was 25.

But my fasting sugar was 110.

I didn’t eat the best but the last 6 months have dropped 30 pounds. Adopted a pretty good diet of
Eggs

Chicken veggie potatoe

Same for dinner

Almost daily. I dropped my triglycerides from 170-92 but was shocked to see the insulin at 44. I get such bad “crashes” but never get low blood sugar.

Is there hope?
