As a (relatively) independent observer in Australia, I am struggling how little Americans seem to care about their own politics. They're seemingly comfortable with the fact that the notion of America being a democracy has disappeared in the past 6 months. I've come across some discourse saying "we'll just vote him out next election" but it seems to me that there won't be a next election (or at least one that is free and fair).

Is this just the media I am seeing? Or is there genuine apathy?

I stopped playing the game before Prophecies of Ash was released because I got so sad at just settling one island and importing everything I needed and still making a tonne of cash. There was no requirement to ever settle another island.

This fundamentally destroyed the essence of Anno for me so I'm wondering if this has been fixed.

Edit: I understand you can toggle a setting to set trader restocks and frequency to "normal" but i don't know if that actually inhibits you getting to your 4th tier in the blink of an eye.

The last decent city builder based on Egypt is Children of the Nile, apart from the OG Cleopatra game.

Contrast this with Rome which has so many city builders of varying quality, but certainly a high degree of fidelity.

Is it simply because Egypt is not that interesting?
