How long did the scleral lenses process takes process take for you?

I had corneal cross-linking at the end of July and I’ve got my first appointment for scleral lenses in October.
For anyone who’s been through the process, how long did it take from your first appointment to actually getting your lenses?

Starting university with keratoconus and can’t recognise people from a distance

Starting uni next month and I have keratoconus in both eyes. I recently had cross-linking and my vision is currently really bad, especially when it comes to recognising faces from a distance.

I’m mainly worried about socialising and going to clubs because I genuinely won’t be able to recognise people unless they’re close to me 😭

I probably won’t get my scleral lenses until around December. Has anyone been in a similar situation and how did you manage until you got your lenses?

Lost £1,000 gambling at 18. Where do I go from here?

I’m 18 and have been in and out of gambling for about a year. Over that time I’ve lost close to £1,000, with £600 of that lost today. Today was the reality check I needed, and I’ve decided to quit gambling completely because I never want to feel a loss like this again.
I have roughly £1,500 in savings and I’m starting university in a month, so I’m not in financial trouble, but I’m really disappointed in myself and want to rebuild. What’s the best way to move forward financially and make sure this never happens again?

EDIT: I’ve just signed up to Gamstop and I’ve self excluded on any apps that I used . I never want to look back. Thanks for all the advice , I really appreciate it.

18M lost $800 on roulette today

I’m 18 and lost about $800 on roulette today. I started by trying to win back a $70 loss, but I kept chasing it using the Martingale strategy. Within 30 minutes, a small loss turned into a huge one. It won’t leave me broke and I’m not in debt I still have around $2000, but I’m starting university in a month and all I can think about is what I could’ve done with that money. This was a reality check—I don’t ever want to chase losses again. I think i’ve learned a valuable lesson and I feel like if this stops I can prevent myself from losing more in the future.
