This will be my forever Eevee Ribbon Master. With the very few available 6IV Method 1 spreads available in gen 3, I went with Timid for technically being optimal for Stored Power sweeping + boost passing in later generations.
I’ve done the significantly more difficult version of this hunt in FRLG via Celadon City Game Corner, but I truly wanted this guy in a Luxury Ball. I even attempted to look up spreads for both Abra and Kadabra to see if there were any optimal spreads that exist via H1… and unfortunately, all available H1, Timid spreads for Abra and Kadabra are extremely suboptimal.
Therefore, the significantly easier Battle Video RNG once again reigns supreme due to the incredible spreads Synchronize allows for one to find within Emerald (in addition to capturing this guy in a Luxury Ball).
This Pinsir rounds out the very last major Safari Zone target for my eventual Ribbon Mastering collection (and not a moment too soon).
That being said, I got extremely lucky with this hunt, only phasing twice with ~60ish total encounters between solidifying my calibration, and ultimately capturing it on my second encounter with it.
This is also, in my opinion, one of the coolest shiny sprites in gen 3 - which to me makes it even better.
Really sucks that this is the best possible HP-Grass + Modest spread available in the game as a consistently huntable Method H-1 wild spread, considering the OCD in me would have greatly preferred this to have a HP strength of 70… but I digress.
Very happy to have this as a future Magmortar come Gen 4 as another Ribbon Master to be.
This will eventually become an Alolan Raichu Ribbon Master, and considering it’s origins will be that of Hoenn from Gen 3 Safari Zone - I’m confident that this will be quite unique when it’s all said and done.
My next hunt will be to hunt a Pikachu from FRLG from either Viridian Forest or the Power Plant (whichever has the best available competitive spreads) to become a standard Kantonian Raichu Ribbon Master.
After taking off about 2/3rds of a year from RNG hunts, I decided to finally finish getting my Ribbon Master Ditto’s with a standard flawless, 6IV, JPN shiny Ditto for future Masuda breeding purposes - which will hopefully be useful to me for the rest of time via the generations of games to come.
This has been on my to do list for quite some time - I’ve wanted to get myself a Gen 1 VC Ribbon Master to eventually transfer all the way up to the Switch era, and I thought of no better target than Pokémon Yellow’s starter Pikachu after a pretty grueling 9762 SR’s!
Also, just for fun, I dumped my VC save into my Yellow cartridge and earned myself a Surfing starter Pikachu (it really sucks that you can’t transfer Surf up with you into Pokémon Bank, but regardless, totally worth it!)
