Post RCT Issues

Long post!!!!! I am sorry in advance!

I got three root canals done in about a month. That was about a month ago that the last one was done. I was getting a root canal once a week for about a month. I got them temporary crown and then I just got the permanent crowns on about a week ago. I was wearing the temporary for about a month. I had a root canal done first on the lower right side second on the upper right side and third on the upper left side. I wasn't chewing on the right side at all but then when I got the left side done I had to. Once I did that I noticed some sensitivity on the right side.

I went back to the endodontist because the sensitivity was on the lower right side in the tooth behind the one I had the root canal on. He gave me a steroid pack and told me my cold response when he tested it was not strong enough for them to want to give me another root canal. I was having ear pain and tingling in my right ear and that has gone away. i've had periods where it isn't really too bad and then periods were the response is pretty strong. I had a cold response on the upper right side in the tooth behind the root canal there as well occasionally. I mentioned it when I got the permanent crowns on and she said to give it time and then I could take a year for the root canals to heal. I told her it was the tooth behind that and she said to still give a time and then that tooth had a shallow filling in it so she just wanted to give it time. Now I am getting cold and heat sensitivity, it was brief but now it’s lasting longer. I am getting ear and cheek pain again. What does this mean? Am I headed for another root canal?

Post Crown and Root Canal Pain

Hi I need some advice! I have gotten 3 root canals in the past 5 weeks (lower right 5 weeks ago, upper right 4 weeks ago, upper left about 3 weeks ago). I was having some cold sensitivity on the teeth behind the root canals on the right side and the endodontist said it was reversible (that tooth did have a filling) and gave me a steroid pack. That was about 2 weeks ago. I have since gotten the two crowns on the right a week ago and got the left crown done yesterday. They also did a bite adjustment for me yesterday. I am still having some cold sensitivity on that right side and I am having ear and jaw pain. Is this normal? I don’t know what it normal or not anymore because this whole process has been awful! I got a total of 6 fillings in April that have led to this and 3 of them needed root canals. A couple of them were in-between my teeth. What are the odds I’m heading for a root canal with the others? Any advice would help!

Root Canal Questions

Hi I need some advice! I have gotten 3 root canals in the past 3 weeks (lower right 3 weeks ago, upper right 2 weeks ago, upper left about a week ago). I had not chewed on the right side at all since getting the root canals on the right but when I got the one on the left I switched to the other side. Now it feels like the tooth behind the original root canal on the lower right is cold sensitive. It hurts with cold water and when chewing on cold things. It lasts for about 10 seconds and then it does ache a bit after I am done eating. I have a follow up appointment, but am I headed for another root canal? I haven’t gotten my crowns in place yet because it feels like I have a new issue every week! Thanks in advance for any advice!

Fillings and Root Canal Questions

In April, I had see a new dentist who told me I needed 5 fillings (3 of which were redo fillings due to me grinding my teeth). I got them done. Turned out to be a huge mistake. I immediately started with pain when biting and sensitivity. When I went for a follow up he said give it more time and wear a night guard. I got a second opinion who said the same thing. Then a month later, my right side started having severe pains. The sensitivity never went away on any side. I ended up needing two root canals (1 on the bottom because they thought it was the issue but wasn’t and one on the top that was necrotic and dead). I still have the left side fillings that are super sensitive. The endodontist wants to give that side more time to calm down and didn’t want to evaluate it. I made an appointment in two weeks to follow up on the left side. Can someone tell me that the left side could get better or not? I am terrified of having pain like that again and I had to miss work. Thanks!
