Instead of another law firm drama, why not flip the perspective?

A limited 10–12 episode series following Sean Cahill (Neal McDonough) as the lead, with each season focusing on one major SEC investigation.

Season 1 could retell the Mike Ross case from Cahill’s point of view. We already know how it ends, but we’ve never seen how he built the case from the SEC’s side.

Harvey, Mike and anyone else involved would appear naturally because the investigation demands it—not because it’s fan service.

Then each new season follows a different investigation, with Suits characters appearing only when it makes sense.

For example, I’d love a Season 2 centred on a huge financial fraud case with Louis Litt defending the client. We’ve heard countless times that Louis is one of the best finance lawyers in New York, so seeing him from the other side of the courtroom against Cahill would be brilliant.

I also wouldn’t want Cahill to be against the Suits characters all the time. Sometimes he’d be investigating one of their clients, other times he’d actually need their expertise.

Harvey, Louis, Katrina or Jessica could occasionally become reluctant allies if it helped take down someone bigger.

That unpredictability would keep the focus on the investigations rather than making it “SEC vs Pearson Specter” every season.

Sean Cahill was one of the most underrated recurring characters in Suits, and I think Neal McDonough could absolutely carry a series like this.

Can we take a moment to appreciate how elite-tier the music department was on Suits?

From choosing “Greenback Boogie” for the opening credits, to the perfectly selected songs and melodies during the emotional scenes—especially those quieter moments involving Mike and whoever he was opening up to—the music always seemed to land exactly when it needed to.

It never felt randomly inserted or overly dramatic. The soundtrack genuinely elevated the scenes, strengthened the emotion and became a huge part of the show’s identity.

Just superb choices, time after time.

1. Gretchen Bodinski
Gretchen is comfortably number one for me. She never felt like a replacement for Donna; she immediately became her own character and somehow felt as though she had always been part of the firm.
Who would you choose?

With all the multiverse stuff Marvel has introduced, I honestly think there’s a simple way to honour Wesley Snipes’ Blade while still making Mahershala Ali the MCU’s Blade.

Hear me out.

We know Wesley’s Blade escaped the Void in Deadpool & Wolverine. Gambit, X-23 and the others escaped as well, so there’s no reason Blade couldn’t.
The film opens with Blade finally making it back to what he believes is his universe.
Except… it isn’t.

The city has been overrun by vampires.
Blade eventually runs into Abigail Whistler, but she doesn’t recognise him and immediately attacks him because, in this universe, she’s never met him.
The big reveal is that Blade’s original universe really was pruned by the TVA. There is no home left to return to.

He’s actually arrived in the MCU universe, where a war against Varnae is already underway.
From there the movie becomes less about “old Blade vs new Blade” and more about legacy.

Wesley isn’t there to replace Mahershala Ali, He’s there because he’s been fighting vampires for over a century.
He’s seen things this younger Blade hasn’t.
By the end of the film he naturally takes on the Whistler role.

Not because he’s too old to fight, but because experience becomes just as valuable as swinging a sword.
He still joins battles when needed, but now he’s also training the next Daywalker.

I also wouldn’t call the films Blade 4 or Blade 5.
I’d go with something like:
Blade: The Vampire Hunter
Blade: Tomb of Dracula
Blade: The Daywalker

The other thing I’d change compared to a lot of modern franchises…

The villains stay dead.

Varnae dies.
His death creates a power vacuum.
That allows Lilith (Dracula’s daughter) to rise in the next film.
Lilith dies.
Her death becomes the catalyst for Dracula himself finally entering the story.
Instead of bringing the same villains back repeatedly, each movie deals with the consequences of the previous one.

That way the story naturally escalates:
Varnae
Lilith
Dracula

And when Dracula finally appears, I don’t mean the version we got in Blade: Trinity.
I mean the comic version.
The ancient king.
The strategist.
The vampire that makes even Blade question whether humanity can survive.

Most importantly…
I wouldn’t kill Wesley’s Blade.
Hollywood seems obsessed with killing legacy characters to pass the torch.
I’d rather see him become what Whistler once was.
The legend every hunter turns to when things get truly bad.

You can still have Mahershala Ali become the Blade of the MCU while allowing Wesley Snipes’ Blade to remain out there somewhere, hunting vampires.
To me, that’s a much more respectful ending than simply killing him off.
